Growing and Glowing at Olds!
This week our students have been growing and glowing with their Dreambox focus. We have been in full swing with our Math March Madness! The goal all year has been for students to complete 5 Dreambox lessons a week. In September of 2024, we had 52% of students completing 2 lessons or less, now so far in March, we have only 7% of students completing 2 lessons or less. That is some major growth! Just this week we have had 100% of students log into Dreambox! We are proud of the dedication and excited about growing their math skills. Keep growing and glowing Olds!
Cultural Celebration Night!
We have some updated information about our first ever Cultural Celebration Night! We are excited to announce we will be having our Cultural Celebration Night held from 6pm - 7pm on Thursday, April 10th! Doors will open at 6pm for families to explore our Cultural Arts Show showcasing student artwork, learn through student research projects about countries around the world, and engage with community members about their cultural identity. Students will also have a chance to win a FREE Olds merch item! At 6:30, a student performance by first, third, and fifth grade students will take place in the gym. We hope to see you there!
Student Dreambox Usage
This month our students will be completing a fun dreambox challenge with a focus on the whole school reaching the goal of at least 5 lessons completed a week. This is a reminder that Dreambox lessons should be completed at school as we want to ensure students are working on the tasks on their own. Your child’s teacher may give different guidance on outside of school usage based on individual student and class needs during the course of the school year.

Yearbook Pictures
The Olds PTA yearbook is in need of pictures! We’re filling out the pages from the first half of the school year and could use more pictures from all kinds of events: choir, fall festival, field trips, first day of school, spelling bee, and walk/roll to school. And keep those pictures from the rest of the year coming in, too! It helps if you put the event or grade in the email subject.
If you’ve been meaning to send pictures but haven’t yet, go ahead and email them to oldsptayearbook@gmail.com.
Book Giveaway
Heads up: Olds will be collecting books for a free summer book giveaway again this year at the end of May. There will be collection boxes at school the week before the event. We accept picture books through YA novels (no board books or workbooks). Contact Amy Weinberg (amy.weinbergnc@gmail.com) with questions or to arrange an early book drop off.
