Growing and Glowing at Olds!
This week, our growing and glowing spotlight is on two of our student groups. This Saturday, our Girls on the Run group ran a 5K at Koka Booth Amphitheatre. There were lots of smiles while showing off their perseverance and commitment by running their 5K in some cold conditions! We are all so proud of them! We also want to spotlight our Recycling Club that was formed this year. This week they received a letter from the Wake County Solid Waste Division recognizing them for their hard work and received official lapel pins. Thank you to the staff who spend their time supporting our students in these efforts. Keep growing and glowing! We love seeing you all shine!
Winter Performance for K-2
Ms. Sheffield has sent the following information out to K-2 parents. Kinder, 1st and 2nd grade families, our Winter Program is coming up! This is the 2nd year for the winter program, and K, 1st and 2nd will be participating. All K-2nd families are invited to attend. The performance will be on Monday, December 16th, at 1:30 pm in the gym. It will last about 30 minutes and include many songs about winter-related themes and holidays. There is no specific dress code, but students may wear holiday-themed colors (green, red, silver, blue, white, and gold). If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Sheffield.
Choir Club Performance
Students in our Choir Club have a performance on Wednesday, December 18th at 6 pm. All are welcome to attend. Parents of students in the choir club have received more detailed information. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Sheffield.
Change in WCPSS Calendar for Students
On Dec. 3, the School Board approved changing Friday, Jan. 3 to an unprotected teacher work day for all traditional calendar schools and a non-instructional day for students. Review the updated calendar. Students will now return to school from Winter break on Monday, Jan. 6th.
