Staff Spotlight

You can shout out your BES teachers and staff! Did your student have a great week? Did you see a teacher do something extraordinary? Did the school look especially clean? You will soon be able to recognize these teachers and staff - your shout out may be featured on our website or in the lobby!

If you would like to provide a staff shoutout, please click here or go to the school website.

NC School Heros

The North Carolina Education Lottery's NC School Heroes program provides North Carolina residents with the opportunity to celebrate the educators and school employees who impact the lives of our students every day. Through a voting and judging process, the contest will reward 10 deserving NC School Heroes, their affiliated K–12 public schools, and their nominators with cash prizes. Click here to nominate one of the Bulldog staff.

Lunch Applications

WCPSS Child Nutrition Services wants families to know that they can apply online to qualify for free and reduced-price school meals.

Families who have a student receiving meals benefits from the 2018-19 school year need to know that those benefits will expire soon.

Please find information that best describes your child’s school and you will find the date that benefits expired on October 8th.  Families can reapply or apply for the first time. The process is easy. Applications can be completed online.

Families can go online to to determine if their students qualify and to complete the online application. Families will find information about the application, frequently asked questions and the online application.

Families may also visit their school where paper applications will be available.

WCPSS Child Nutrition Services wants to make sure all qualified families enroll for free and reduced-price meals.

Family Math Night

Our next family math night will be held on Thursday, March 12th. The PTA will serve Pizza for dinner from 5:00PM - 530PM. There will be grade level “Make and Take” activities in various locations. Canned Food Drive

Briarcliff Student Council is hosting a canned food drive through the end of February. The food we collect will go to The Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. Did you know that they not only support families in need but also support disaster relief efforts in NC. Students may drop off non-perishable food items in the designated boxes in the main hallway.

NO Drop Off on Pond Street

Thank you to parents who have seen my email and stopped dropping off on Pond Street. If you are still dropping off here, even when you see staff, we are asking you to please STOP! There is only one place to drop off and pick up students. Please consider the message it sends to our students when the adults are not following procedures.

Next PTA Meeting will be on Thursday, March 5th

Carpool Pizza Thank You!

Thanks so much to everyone who bought a pizza or tried to! We sold 80 pizzas, which was all they brought. They usually only bring 60. Next time they will bring more. What a great way to get dinner on Friday night while helping our school!

Planning for our Spring Fling will soon be underway.  Spring Fling this year is on Friday, April 24th. We need lots of hands to help make this event as successful as it has been in the past.  If you can help out please email Jacquelyn White
