Stingray News and Updates from Ms. Yunker- April 25, 2025

 

Hello Stingray Families-

It has been a warm week at Cedar Fork, but I have good news! A portable unit has been brought in to help cool the building until our AC is fixed. It has been installed and the building already feels better. We will be ready just in time for the hot weather that arrives next week. 

Thank you to the PTA for the new picnic tables in front of the building! They have already gotten a lot of use!

Ms. Seabrook and the carnival committee have put together and amazing event! We can't wait to see everyone tomorrow from 12-4. 

Here are a few updates and reminders:

Lost and Found: All items should be picked up by May 1st. After that we will donate the remaining items. 

Parent Volunteer Registration- Field Day is coming soon. Ms. Hamrick and Mr. Mularchik will be sending out a sign up for those parents who would like to volunteer to help at field day. Please keep in mind that only parents who are volunteers are allowed to join us on field day. 

Letterland- WCPSS is hosting a Letterland event at Pullen Park on May 5-8. Here is more information if you are interested: Letterland 

Panorama Survey- Your voice is important to us! Please take a moment to complete the Panorama Survey to give us your input on developing a stronger partnership to support student achievement! Look for an email from Panorama Education that includes a survey link. Once you have completed the survey for EACH STUDENT that attends a WCPSS school, please sign the form and return it to the classroom teacher. Thank you!

Teacher of the Month: We love getting you and your child's nominations for Teacher of the Month! Please take a moment to nominate your child's teacher for April Teacher of the Month using the following link:

End-of-Grade Testing- The dates for EOG testing have been finalized. Students will test on the following dates:

Tuesday, June 3- Reading (3rd, 4th, & 5th)

Thursday, June 5- Math (3rd, 4th, & 5th)

Friday, June 6- Science (5th) & Read to Achieve (3rd- select students only)

Tomorrow is our first spring carnival from 12-4, and it's happening rain or shine! We have indoor and outdoor activities planned. 

We're starting to collect donations for Teacher Appreciation Week. Sign up for donations here.

PTA elections are coming up! Please fill out this form if you are interested in being next year's president, vice president, treasurer, or secretary. All positions are available.
