Updates for this week

Spread the Love Peanut Butter Food Drive:  Our “Spread the Love” peanut butter food drive is going strong!  Please continue to send in new, unopened jars of peanut butter.  The peanut butter will be donated to the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle to be distributed to those in need.  The class with the most jars collected will be rewarded with a pizza and cheesecake celebration courtesy of The Cheesecake Factory!  The spread the love drive will run from 9/1-9/30.

Notes from the PTA:  The PTA cannot send emails unless parents sign up. Please sign up here: Contact Release Form

IA Appreciation Day:  Please join me in celebrating all of the hard work and dedication of all our school’s instructional assistants.  We will recognize IA Appreciation Day on Friday, September 13th.

Transportation Changes:  As a reminder, please notify the main office by 2:30 p.m. of any transportation changes for your child.  This means that if you intend for them to go home in a different manner than their normally scheduled method, then alert the front office personnel instead of the teacher.  Messages or emails can easily be missed by the teacher as their focus is on instruction.  Alerting the front office in a timely manner, will ensure that your child gets home the way you intended.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

Attendance Awareness Month:  September is Attendance Awareness Month. We are excited to see your child everyday so they can learn as much as possible this school year. Good attendance will help your child soar academically in school, in college, and in their future career. School attendance not only enhances your child academically, but it also supports their social emotional growth. Missing 10% of school (about 18 days) can hinder academic success. Any time missed in the classroom (excused or unexcused) is a lost opportunity to learn. If you have questions, concerns or need support with getting your child to school and on time daily, please contact our school or our School Social Worker, Cquanica Houston-Burden.

Attendance Spirit Days Each Friday of September

Fall Picture Re-takes:  For any new students to PGES on tracks 2 & 4 that started after August 7th, or any students that were absent from school on this same date, we will have an opportunity for them to sit for Fall pictures.  The Fall picture make-up date is September 19th for tracks 2 & 4.  Tracks 1 & 3 will take place later in October.
