Principal's Message 7.21.24

Hello Pleasant Grove Families!  Our students on tracks 1-3 enjoyed a great first two weeks of school.

Updates for this week

Student Technology Questions or Concerns?:  If you have trouble with your district assigned device call Student Tech Help at 919-664-5700 or visit https://staform.wcpss.net

Visitor Management System:  All school visitors will be required to check in using the Verkada Visitor Management System located in the front office.  This system creates a uniform security protocol to guest check-ins, as well as logging visits, and student check-ins and outs.  This new system also searches sexual offender databases for matches.  Every visitor to our campus will be required to sign in using this system, each and every visit.  Please be prepared with your driver’s license.  We appreciate your patience as this is a new process and one that is being implemented district-wide.

Morning Arrivals:  In connection with the new visitor management system, parents are not allowed to bypass the front office during arrival time.  Please refrain from walking your child to class during morning arrivals.  This does not include our blended PreK students on track 4, where parents must sign them in daily.  Teachers need this time to connect with students and prepare them for the day.  Conferences can be scheduled in advance if there is pertinent information that you would like to discuss with the teacher.  Scheduling a conference will also help to ensure that you have the teacher’s full attention.

Fall Pictures:  Students will have the opportunity to take fall pictures on July 25th for tracks 1-3 and August 7th for track 4. These photographs will be used for the yearbook, so we encourage all students to sit for a photo.  In addition, fall pictures are pre-paid so you should have receive an envelope in order to select your package and send in funds for this, or you have the option to pay online.
