Student Council Book Drive: As you may have seen on the news, the state of Kentucky was recently hit with devastating floods. Letcher County, Kentucky was particularly hard-hit. In fact, the libraries of two of their elementary schools and one middle school were completely destroyed. For specific details about these schools, please watch this short video. As a result, our Student Council is sponsoring a book drive to help resupply those libraries. They will be accepting new and gently used books for students ages 4-14, starting on Monday, September 19 through Friday, September 30. If you have books at home that you no longer use, please consider donating them to this worthy cause. There will be collection boxes in all second period classrooms. The goal is to collect at least 250 books. Thanks to our Student Council for sponsoring such a worthy event!
Clothing Distribution We are partnering with Note in the Pocket to host a free clothing distribution on Friday, September 23 at RTP Campus. The event is open to Wake Tech students and their families, including Early College students, along with students and families in surrounding Wake County schools and Morrisville community. Click here for more information. Feel free to share with anyone in your community that may benefit.
From the WECIB PTSA: Join the Wake County PTA Advocacy Committee, together with Wake Education Partnership and Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, this October as we welcome our Wake School Board candidates for a series of nonpartisan virtual candidate forums to discuss important issues in education. Forums will be recorded and posted to YouTube for viewing on-demand. Use this link for more information and to submit your questions to the school board candidates.
