Wednesday Words - 5/22/24

Dear Parents,

How is it already Memorial Day weekend! Let’s continue to end the year strong where our students are getting a good night sleep, and they are coming to school every day to learn. Students need to continue to treat each other as they want to be treated and continue to be respectful to staff and peers. We can do this!

In preparation for creating class lists for next year, if you feel your child would benefit from being in a separate class from another student, or not with a teacher you socialize with, please share this with us and briefly provide the reason within this Parent Input Form. We will need these complete by end of day on May 24th. I will be closing the form down at the end of day on the 24th – no exceptions.

Be sure to click on the Lacy PTA and Foundation information link is HERE!

Grateful for you,

Sherri Miller

CONCIOUS DISCIPLINE TIP

Conscious Discipline is not just about addressing the current behavior, rather it is teaching children skills they can use throughout their lives.

· By implementing the powers and skills together, we learn to stay in control of ourselves, and in charge of children in a manner that models the same skills we seek to teach.

· This, combined with the willingness generated by the School Family, empowers children to successfully learn and internalize lifelong skills.

MESSAGE FROM THE OFFICE

If you have a rising Kindergartner, please go to wcpss.net under Enrollment to register your child. You will then receive an email from Mrs. Spooney to set up an appointment to complete

the registration process. It is really important for planning purposes for us to have the most up-to-date information about our incoming Kindergarteners.

If you have a change of address or new phone number, please contact Emily Spooney at espooney@wcpss.net

Please contact Emily Spooney, espooney@wcpss.net, if you are not planning on returning to a WCPSS school for the 2024-25 school year.

SAFETY UPDATES

Please refrain from taking a left out of our parking lot in the afternoons during carpool. It is against the law AND it clogs up the exiting of cars.
