Wednesday Words - 5/8/24
Dear Parents,
Thank you for finding ways this week to celebrate Teacher Appreciation week. Thank you to the PTA for organizing and providing daily treats – they are so appreciated!
Hopefully your child shared with the fun had at our Laps for Lacy Kickball Game! The Yellow Team won – which was a great team for me to be on as my last Lacy Kickball game before my retirement!
If you have not yet completed the Family Survey, please take a few minutes to do so. We need to hear from MORE than 112 families! Click: Family Survey 2024.
Be sure to click on the Lacy PTA and Foundation information link is HERE!
Grateful for you,

OPPORTUNITY WCPSS is proud to present Letterland Days 2024 Throughout the week of May 13-17, different Letterlanders can be found at various locations around Pullen Park. Join us each day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. for a scavenger hunt to locate your favorite Letterlanders. On May 13 and May 16 from 5 to 8 p.m., additional fun and exciting themed activities will be located at stations around the park. Register for Letterland Activity Nights.
Any parent can check their student's LUNCH accounts by logging into MYSCHOOLBUCKS.com. This will allow a parent to add money, review any current or recent transactions and see the current balance available. We are observing that some students
are buying many snacks (some are buying as many as 5-7 at a time) and either eating them without eating their lunch OR giving them to other students. We do not want any student giving others food even when other students are asking for their snack.
STAFF UPDATES
· ALB’s last day at Lacy Elementary is this Friday as she attends graduate school.
· Betty Ann Scott returns this week from her maternity leave.
CONCIOUS DISCIPLINE TIP
Conscious Discipline is an adult first model. We need to practice our own regulation skills so we can upshift to our executive brain state.
For a child to achieve an executive state, we must first achieve one ourselves. A child cannot be in a higher state than the adult!
MESSAGE FROM THE OFFICE
If you have a change of address or new phone number, please contact Emily Spooney at espooney@wcpss.net
Please contact Emily Spooney, espooney@wcpss.net, if you are not planning on returning to a WCPSS school for the 2024-25 school year.
