Wednesday Words - 04/11/24
Dear Parents,
I am sorry for sending the Wednesday Words for Families out on a Thursday! With the Teacher Workday and various meetings all day, I was unable to send it out.
We are all excited about Laps for Lacy! The lobby is decorated, a fun pep rally is planned for Friday, the students are learning about the ROAR characteristics, and everyone is getting ready for race day. This is a joint fundraiser with Lacy PTA and Lacy Foundation; funds used to support our school with additional positions!
Your input is being requested for the profile of your next principal. Please find parent/community letters from Dr. Ashburn, Area Superintendent inviting you to:
· Attend an in-person input session on Monday, April 22 at 8:45am in the Lacy Media Center; · Attend a virtual input session on Tuesday, April 23 at 5:30pm; and/or · Complete this digital survey by 11:59pm on Tuesday, April 23. Your feedback is also needed for the Family Survey 2024. Helping students do their best in school requires a team effort. Parents, students, and schools all play important roles in this process. Help us make your child’s school experience at Lacy Elementary as positive and beneficial as possible by giving honest, thoughtful responses to the questions on this survey by May 17th. If you have more than one student at Lacy, complete the survey only once. If you have a student at another school, complete a family survey for that school as well as Lacy. Thank you!

Grateful for you,
Sherri Miller

CONCIOUS DISCIPLINE TIP
Skill of Assertiveness: Voice of No Doubt
Before children decide whether to comply with a command, they will read your facial expressions, tone of voice, and gestures. We increase the chances they will obey if we appear confident and in control, sound sure of ourselves, believe they can be successful, and use gestures to provide information.
MESSAGE FROM THE OFFICE
Just a reminder that we stop early check outs at 2:30 p.m. Please make sure you are here by 2:30 p.m. to check out your student.
If students arrive on campus after 8:30 am, please come to the door and sign your child in tardy with the QR code. Students should not be coming in after 8:30 a.m. without an adult checking them in.
If you have a change of address or new phone number, please contact Emily Spooney at espooney@wcpss.net
