MESSAGE FROM THE OFFICE

If students arrive on campus after 8:30 am, please come to the door and sign your child in tardy with the QR code. Students should not be coming in after 8:30 a.m. without an adult checking them in.

All WCPSS laptops will stay at school so students can use them for educational purposes during the school day and during assessments. When students are using their device, we are asking students to refrain from having food or their water bottle at their desk. Spills are happening and devices are impacted.

If you have a change of address or new phone number, please contact Emily Spooney at espooney@wcpss.net

SUPPLIES NEEDED

Ms. Haw's art room is in DESPERATE need of erasers! She could use as many Papermate Pink rectangular erasers as possible for all our little artists! This type works much better and crumbles less than other brands!

OPPORTUNITIES

· The HI Blended Pre-k program at Lacy Elementary has openings for the 2024-2025 school year! We have two classes: the 3-year-old class in the morning and the 4- year -old class in the afternoon. Registration takes place from February 27th-March 10th. Applications will be mailed on February 27th. All applications are due by March 10th.

Please email the Lacy pre-k teacher Kellie Huffman for more details: khuffman@wcpss.net

SAFETY UPDATES Here is a link to our Lacy Protocols for Families to better understand our structures and routines to ensure that every child is safe and learning in our building. The district is using the CDC guidelines for COVID: Covid-19 Information

CONCIOUS DISCIPLINE TIP

Judging vs Noticing

Noticing helps to encourage children in a way that makes their accomplishments their own rather than making it about us.

Judging: “That was a great slide!”

Noticing: “You did it! You came down the slide feet first and landed right in my arms.”

Judging: “Good job, Erica!”

Noticing: “Erica, you put your toys in the bins and your clothes in the drawers. You’ve cleaned your room so you can find things when you want them!”
