Dear Forestville Road Elementary Families,

I am incredibly honored to be appointed the next principal of Forestville Road Elementary. I will be starting next week on Monday, September 9th, and am so excited to begin getting to know each of you and our students, and starting the work of helping every Falcon grow each day!

I was born in Virginia and my family moved to Raleigh when I was in 8th grade. After graduating from Leesville Road High School, I attended North Carolina State University (Go Wolfpack!) where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I started my career as a second grade teacher and worked at Smith Magnet Elementary School and Hilburn K-8 Academy in WCPSS. I most enjoyed opportunities to give back to my school community and make an impact beyond the classroom.

I returned to NC State to continue my education where I earned my Master’s degree in School Administration, and completed my administrative internship at Washington GT Magnet Elementary. I was given the opportunity to follow my 5th graders up to middle school, and became the 6th grade Assistant Principal at Ligon GT Magnet Middle School where I served for four years and learned so much. My heart was calling me back to the elementary level, so I then moved to Baileywick Elementary where I have been the Assistant Principal for the past two years. While I am sad to leave my Baileywick crew, I am so excited to join the Forestville Road family where we can learn and grow together.

On a personal note, my husband Josh and I have been married since 2020, and we have two miniature dachshunds, Wyatt and Leia. We like to watch movies, complete home improvement projects, and travel/explore new places. I am also a doctoral student at NC State with a goal to complete my dissertation by December 2025.

I am eager to get started next week, and am committed to serving the students, staff, and families at Forestville Road. I look forward to meeting our Falcon families in the coming weeks, and will be in touch soon about a meet and greet.
