Turbo Trailblazers RUN CLUB

We are excited for the return of the Turbo Trailblazers Run Club! This is a Run Club for BRES students in 3rd through 5th grade. Our goal is to combine exercise with fun activities and lessons to help students learn teamwork, build relationship skills, create new friendships, build self-esteem, empower themselves, live an active lifestyle, and of course, run! Students do not need to be experienced runners before joining the run club. There will be many different athletic levels and our goal is to work with the needs and abilities of each child so they feel confident and strong inside and out. We will wrap up our season on June 7th by running the 5k at Run The Quay as a team! The season will start on April 28th and we will meet every Monday (rain or shine). Practice will take place on the track behind the school. In order to accommodate as many students as possible, please only sign up if you can commit to once a week. Practice will start after school and end at 5:15pm. Students participating will have to have their own transportation for pick up. The price for signups will be $15.00 . This price includes our team t-shirt. If you would like to sign up your child, please complete this registration form prior to Monday, April 21st. Kindergarten registration for the 25-26 school year

If you have a child that will be 5 years old by August 31st, please come into the office to register them for Kindergarten. We are working on our teacher numbers for next year to build a strong Kindergarten teaching team and would like to meet your child. If you know a family that has a rising Kindergartener, please also encourage them to register.  We look forward to meeting our incoming students at Kindergarten Orientation on Wednesday, June 18th at 5:30. Please call the school with any questions 919-890-7333.

If you know that your child will not be attending Banks Road next year, please contact our data manager, Tammy Rodger at trodger@wcpss.net as soon as possible so she can assist you with transferring. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Carpool Safety Concerns

It has come to our attention that some parents are allowing their children to stand up and put their heads through/crawl out of their sunroof in the carpool lane. Please note that in addition to being a serious safety concern,  the carpool loop is an extension of Chambers Road and you can receive a moving violation ticket for this. Please assist us in keeping everyone safe during carpool.

 

Checking in/out reminders

Please remember that all early check-outs must occur prior to 3:15. After 3:15 all families must go through the carpool line. Additionally, when checking in/out your student, please make sure you have your phone and ID with you so you can access the QR Code for Late Arrivals, Early Check outs and Visitors. Finally, all late students must be signed in by an adult. They are not allowed to be dropped off out front to ring the bell unattended. Thank you for your support and adherence to these important safety practices.

 

Notes from the PTA

Thank you to everyone who attended the financial literacy/math night on Thursday and a big THANK YOU to everyone who donated towards the March Madness coin tournament! The winning grade level was preK/Kindergarten! They will receive a cookie party with the Chick-Fil-A cow next Friday.

Turbo Trailblazers RUN CLUB

EN¡Estamos emocionados por el regreso del Turbo Trailblazers Run Club! Este es un Run Club para estudiantes de BRES de 3º a 5º grado. Nuestro objetivo es combinar ejercicio con actividades divertidas y lecciones para ayudar a los estudiantes a aprender a trabajar en equipo, desarrollar habilidades para relacionarse, crear nuevas amistades, desarrollar la autoestima, empoderarse, vivir un estilo de vida activo y, por supuesto, ¡correr! No es necesario que los estudiantes sean corredores experimentados antes de unirse al club de carreras. Habrá muchos niveles atléticos diferentes y nuestro objetivo es trabajar con las necesidades y habilidades de cada niño para que se sienta seguro y fuerte por dentro y por fuera. ¡Concluiremos nuestra temporada el 7 de junio corriendo los 5 km en Run The Quay como equipo! La temporada comenzará el 28 de abril y wNos reuniremos con todos Lunes (llueva o haga sol). Los entrenamientos se realizarán en la pista detrás de la escuela. Para acomodar a la mayor cantidad de estudiantes posible, regístrese solo si puede comprometerse a hacerlo una vez por semana. La práctica comenzará después de clases y terminará a las 5:15 p.m. Los estudiantes que participen deberán tener su propio transporte para ser recogidos. El precio por inscripciones será de $15.00. Este precio incluye nuestra camiseta del equipo. Si desea inscribir a su hijo, complete este formulario de registro antes del lunes 21 de abril. Si está interesado en ser voluntario (y es un voluntario aprobado de WCPSS), envíe un correo electrónico ssimmons@wcpss.net.

 

Inscripción de guardería para el curso escolar 25-26

Si tiene un hijo que cumplirá 5 años antes del 31 de agosto, venga a la oficina para inscribirlo en el jardín de infantes. Estamos trabajando en nuestra cantidad de maestros para el próximo año para formar un equipo docente sólido de jardín de infantes y nos gustaría conocer a su hijo. Si conoce una familia que tiene un estudiante en el jardín de infantes, anímelos también a registrarse.  Esperamos conocer a nuestros estudiantes entrantes en Orientación de Kindergarten el miércoles 18 de junio a las 5:30. Si tiene alguna pregunta, llame a la escuela al 919-890-7333.

Preocupaciones de seguridad en viajes compartidos

Nos ha llamado la atención que algunos padres permiten que sus hijos se pongan de pie y asomen la cabeza por el techo corredizo o salgan del techo corredizo en el carril de viajes compartidos. Tenga en cuenta que, además de ser un problema de seguridad grave, el circuito de viajes compartidos es una extensión de Chambers Road y puede recibir una multa por infracción de tránsito por esto. Ayúdenos a mantener a todos seguros durante el viaje compartido.

 

Recordatorios de entrada/salida

Por favor recuerda eso Todas las salidas anticipadas deben realizarse antes de las 3:15. Después de las 3:15 todas las familias deben pasar por la fila de viajes compartidos. Además, al registrar la entrada o salida de su estudiante, asegúrese de Ten tu teléfono y tu identificación contigo para poder acceder al código QR. para llegadas tardías, salidas anticipadas y visitantes. Finalmente, todos los estudiantes que llegan tarde deben ser registrados por un adulto. No se les permite dejarlos afuera para tocar el timbre sin supervisión. Gracias por su apoyo y cumplimiento de estas importantes prácticas de seguridad.

 

Notas de la PTA

¡Gracias a todos los que asistieron a la noche de educación financiera y matemáticas el jueves y muchas GRACIAS a todos los que donaron para el torneo de monedas March Madness! ¡El grado ganador fue preK/Kindergarten! Recibirán una fiesta de galletas con la vaca Chick-Fil-A el próximo viernes.
