AiG Testing Fall Nomination Window

The window for 4th and 5th grade students for AIG testing will open soon.  We are accepting parent nominations until September 12, 2024.  Testing will begin on September 16, 2024 and will consist of the CogAT and IOWA.  We are looking for a score of 95% or higher to qualify for AIG services in math and reading.  Please look at your child's CogAT, IOWA,  EOG scores and any other data  from last year to make a nomination.  Be sure you ask your child's teacher if this type of differentiation is appropriate. We will meet with our committee to go over all of the nominations and decide if this type of testing is appropriate for your child. Boosterthon Fun Run registration 

We are kicking off our Banks Road Elementary Fun Run fundraiser on Wednesday! We’re looking forward to having fun and building community together to reach our fundraising goals. Anyone who signs up online before kickoff will be entered into a drawing to win a skip carline pass.

Fall picture day is Thursday, August 29th

Fall picture day is next Thursday, August 29, 2024! Picture forms will be sent home in Friday folders. Please use the link HERE, to sign up to receive updates via email regarding your child's school portraits. These updates include promotions, additional deals and the ability to order more pictures at a later time. When entering student information, parents should be sure to enter the student's name as it is on file at the school. 

BIMAS screening

In our continuing efforts to support the well-being of all our students, we will be administering a universal screener of social, emotional & behavioral health. The screener consists of a brief rating scale that is going to be completed by the classroom teachers. This information helps us to understand the needs of all our students and to make effective plans at the whole school, class, and individual level. A letter with more detail (and an opt-out opportunity) was sent home in Friday’s folder. Please contact Elliot Brody at ebrody@wcpss.net with any questions.

PreK information

Project Enlightenment offers free developmental screenings!

Screenings are available to all families that live in Wake County with young children ages three, four or five and not yet eligible for kindergarten.

Concerned about your child's development?

If you have concerns about your young child's speech, language, problem-solving skills, social or play skills, behavioral regulation, or emotional regulation, you can call Project Enlightenment at 919-694-8993 or email pe-screening@wcpss.net. A screening technician will reach out to you to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. 

Carpool/Bus loop

During carpool dismissal it is important that you stay in your car in line and please do not park and call your child to cross through traffic to your car. This is a safety concern and it throws off the carpool numbers. Thank you for your cooperation!

School SRO from the FVPD

You may have seen an FVPD officer around school last week and we are happy to share that the town of Fuquay has earned a grant to fund SRO (school resource officers.) We will be sharing Officer Glen Ganzenmuller with South Lakes ES and Fuquay Varina ES this year. Officer Ganzenmuller will flex his schedule and be at Banks on various days (and available to come over in case of emergencies.) 

Free and Reduced lunch applications

Free and reduced meal applications are required to be completed each year. Current status for meals will expire on September 9. You can apply online HERE or get a paper application from the cafeteria or front office. The 24-25 application color is orange.

Ventana de nominación de otoño para pruebas de AiG

Es posible que haya visto a un oficial de FVPD en la escuela la semana pasada y estamos felices de compartir que la ciudad de Fuquay obtuvo una subvención para financiar SRO (oficiales de recursos escolares). Compartiremos al oficial Glen Ganzenmuller con South Lakes ES y Fuquay Varina ES. este año. El oficial Ganzenmuller flexibilizará su horario y estará en Banks varios días (y estará disponible para venir en caso de emergencias).
