PTA Summer Luau (new info!)

The PTA summer luau (formerly the Spring Carnival) will take place on June 7th from 5:30 - 8:00 PM. The event will include the Foam Pit, Sybill the Clown, a dunk bucket, yard games, arts and crafts, and raffle baskets with lots of prizes from local businesses! It will also include the opportunity to purchase food from Friendly Tacos, Magnificent Concessions, Ty's All Natural Food Truck, Stick Happens, and Jim's Ole Time Hot Dogs. Wristband and raffle ticket sales will go online later this month and teachers will be reaching out to ask for raffle basket donations related to their grade level theme.

EOG retesting for eligible students in grades 3-5 (new info)

Students in Grades 3-5 will take the EOG State Tests at the end of this school year.  Should your child meet the criteria for our EOG Remediation and Readministration program you will receive an invitation for your child to attend the program after the EOG testing window closes for our school on June 24th.  For your planning purposes, the program dates for the end of the school year are: June 27th and June 28th. Transportation will be provided, and breakfast and lunch will be available.

EOG proctors needed (repeated info)

EOG testing will be here before we know it (June 12-24) and we will need volunteers to assist with proctoring. Remember you MUST complete the required volunteer registration & background check in the office (and be approved) prior to testing. If you have specific questions about the testing process or proctoring, please reach out to our Testing Coordinators, Mrs. Roy (broy@wcpss.net) and Ms. Cox (jbraccocox@wcpss.net)

24-25 teacher placements- feedback is welcome! (repeated info)

As we begin to look towards the 24-25 school year, we will take many factors into consideration to ensure that each child is placed into a learning environment that is the right fit for them- both academically and socially. While it is not possible to honor requests for specific teachers, we do welcome your input into the process. Feedback will be accepted until June 2nd. Please email Dr. Simmons at ssimmons@wcpss.net with any input you would like to share regarding the following parameters:

1. Please list the characteristics of a teacher that you feel your child learns best from (i.e. nurturing/motherly or firm/structured)- please DO NOT list specific teacher names.

2. Please list any other factors I may need to consider

Additionally, it is important to know exactly how many students are returning and/or leaving. Please take this brief survey to let us know your plans so we can make sure we hire the correct amount of staff!

Reevaluación del EOG para estudiantes elegibles en los grados 3 a 5 (nueva información)

Los estudiantes de los grados 3 a 5 tomarán los exámenes estatales EOG al final de este año escolar. Si su hijo cumple con los criterios para nuestro programa de recuperación y readministración de EOG, recibirá una invitación para que su hijo asista al programa después de que se cierre el período de exámenes EOG para nuestra escuela el 24 de junio. Para sus propósitos de planificación, las fechas del programa para el final del año escolar son: 27 y 28 de junio. Se proporcionará transporte y habrá desayuno y almuerzo disponibles.
