Happy Sunday, Trailblazers and Happy Thanksgiving week! We hope you had a great break, and we are excited to see our Trailblazers back at school tomorrow!

 

New data manager

Our data manager- Lora Blankenship has taken a job with WCPSS central office and no longer works at Banks Road. Please send any attendance emails to your teacher, or our receptionist, Dana Sizemore at dsizemore@wcpss.net. We will let you know as soon as we have a new data manager in place. 

 

New PTA President needed- message from President Hamilton

Dear Banks Road families, I am sad to share that I must resign my position as PTA president. I have had a change in my employment that does not allow me the flexibility necessary to give the role of PTA president the time it deserves. As a result, Banks Road very much needs your support in continuing the PTA for the rest of this school year, and will need a new PTA president as soon as possible.

Please remember that the PTA bylaws require that someone serves as president in order for the PTA to exist at a given school. The PTA has many events and activities planned through the winter and spring and will not be able to make these happen without a new president. Reach out to either Christa or Suzanne (@treasurebres@gmail.com) if you are interested in taking on the role and helping them continue the important work they do in supporting the school. I have so enjoyed my time as PTA President, working with these amazing women to support Banks Road, and I know you will enjoy working with them in this role, too!
 

December dress up days

The holidays are here, and we have so much to celebrate at our awesome school. Students and staff are encouraged to dress up as follows;

December 4th- dreaming of snow- wear white

December 5th- candy cane day- wear red and white

December 7th- rocking around the Christmas tree- wear a band/music shirt

December 11th- Pajama day

December 12th- Holiday headwear- hats/antlers/headbands

December 13th- grade level color wars: prek/K/5- wear red. ECS, 1st, 4th- wear green. Support staff, 2, 3- wear white

December 14th- toasty toes day- wear cozy or holiday socks

December 15th- winter warm-up's- wear sweatshirts/hoodies

December 18th- Ugly holiday/crazy holiday sweater day

December 19th- Mad about plaid- wear your favorite flannel 

December 20th- wear as much holiday gear as possible

 

Mark your calendars-

December 1st- 2nd grade field trip to the NC Science Museum

December 1st- 2nd quarter interim reports sent home

December 5th- PTA night at Dairy Queen from 4:00-8:00

December 8th- 3rd grade field trip to Piedmont Wildlife Center

 
 

Tiempos pioneros 26/11/23

¡Feliz domingo, pioneros y feliz semana de Acción de Gracias! ¡Esperamos que hayan tenido un buen descanso y estamos emocionados de ver a nuestros Trailblazers regresar a la escuela mañana!

Nuevo administrador de datos

Nuestra administradora de datos, Lora Blankenship, aceptó un trabajo en la oficina central de WCPSS y ya no trabaja en Banks Road. Envíe cualquier correo electrónico de asistencia a su maestro o a nuestra recepcionista, Dana Sizemore, a dsizemore@wcpss.net. Le informaremos tan pronto como tengamos un nuevo administrador de datos.

Se necesita un nuevo presidente de la PTA: mensaje del presidente Hamilton

Queridas familias de Banks Road, Lamento informarles que debo renunciar a mi puesto como presidente de la PTA. He tenido un cambio en mi empleo que no me permite la flexibilidad necesaria para darle al rol de presidente de la PTA el tiempo que merece. Como resultado, Banks Road necesita mucho su apoyo para continuar con la PTA durante el resto de este año escolar y necesitará un nuevo presidente de la PTA lo antes posible.

Recuerde que los estatutos de la PTA exigen que alguien actúe como presidente para que la PTA exista en una escuela determinada. La PTA tiene muchos eventos y actividades planeados durante el invierno y la primavera y no podrá llevarlos a cabo sin un nuevo presidente. Comuníquese con Christa o Suzanne (@treasurebres@gmail.com) si está interesado en asumir el papel y ayudarlos a continuar con el importante trabajo que realizan para apoyar a la escuela. He disfrutado mucho mi tiempo como presidenta de la PTA, trabajando con estas increíbles mujeres para apoyar a Banks Road, ¡y sé que usted también disfrutará trabajar con ellas en este puesto!

Días de disfraces de diciembre

Las vacaciones están aquí y tenemos mucho que celebrar en nuestra increíble escuela. Se anima a los estudiantes y al personal a vestirse de la siguiente manera;

4 de diciembre- soñando con la nieve- viste de blanco

5 de diciembre: día del bastón de caramelo: viste de rojo y blanco.

7 de diciembre: balanceándose alrededor del árbol de Navidad: use una camiseta de banda/música

11 de diciembre- Día del pijama

12 de diciembre- Sombreros navideños- sombreros/astas/diademas

13 de diciembre: guerras de colores a nivel de grado: prek/K/5: vestirse de rojo. ECS, 1º, 4º: visten de verde. Personal de apoyo, 2, 3- visten de blanco

14 de diciembre: día de los dedos de los pies tostados: use calcetines cómodos o navideños

15 de diciembre: calentamiento de invierno: use sudaderas con capucha

18 de diciembre: día festivo feo/día festivo del suéter loco

19 de diciembre: Loco por los cuadros: usa tu franela favorita

20 de diciembre: use la mayor cantidad de ropa navideña posible
