9/11 National Day of Service and Rememberance
September 11th National Day of Service and Rememberance is the culmination of efforts originally launched in 2002 that promotes community service on 9/11 as an annual and forward-looking tribute to the 9/11 victims, survivors, and those who rose up in service in response to the attacks. This was memorialized in all WCPSS schools with a moment of silence on Friday, and is integrated throughout the school year and aligned to the Citizenship Readiness component of the WCPSS strategic plan.

FVPD fundraiser for the Special Olympics (updated from last week!)

Free and Reduced Lunch Benefits
In order to receive free or reduced-price meals for the remainder of the year, families must have submited a meal benefits application. Families who previously received the benefits will lose them after next week is they haven't submitted a new application for 22/23. Please allow 10 business days for processing. For every student that turns in the free and reduced meals application and qualifies, the school also receives federal funds that benefit the students and teachers at the school. We need you to complete a 2022-2023 meal benefits application so our school can be eligible for extra funding next year. If you have not completed a free or reduced-price meal application and think your child may be eligible, pick up an application at your child’s school or apply online at https://www.myschoolapps.com/
Parents visiting for lunch
Families- you are welcome to join your Trailblazer for lunch! Please note the following information:
-You must sign in/out at the main office and wear a visitor sticker the entire time you are on campus. Please say goodbye to your child immediately after lunch and do not follow them down to the classroom.
-You are only allowed to eat with your own child. No other students may join.
-You can either eat at the designated tables at the front of the cafeteria (near the kitchen) or outside at the picnic tables near the K/1playground. If you are outside, please make sure you know the end time for lunch and you walk the student back to the front of the school to be buzzed in on time.
-To protect the rights/confidentiality of all students, you are not allowed to take photos/videos inside of the cafeteria and/or walk around and talk to other students

Feliz domingo, ¡esperamos que todos estén teniendo un gran fin de semana! 9/11 Día Nacional de Servicio y Conmemoración El 11 de septiembre, Día Nacional de Servicio y Conmemoración, es la culminación de los esfuerzos lanzados originalmente en 2002 que promueven el servicio comunitario el 11 de septiembre como un tributo anual y con visión de futuro a las víctimas del 11 de septiembre, los sobrevivientes y aquellos que se levantaron en servicio en respuesta a los ataques. Esto se conmemoró en todas las escuelas de WCPSS con un momento de silencio el viernes, y se integra a lo largo del año escolar y se alinea con el componente de preparación para la ciudadanía del plan estratégico de WCPSS. ¡Bienvenida a nuestra nueva subdirectora interina, Teena Rembach! Las familias que anteriormente recibieron los beneficios los perderán después de la próxima semana si no han presentado una nueva solicitud para el 22/23.
