How much help is TOO much help?

We wanted to first of all thank you for all the support you have been providing to our teachers and your children during remote learning. This seriously "take a village" and we appreciate you! That said, please allow your child to attend class on their own without you sitting next to them on the computer. We are trying to build their independence, and we have had several instances of parents answering questions (instead of the child), calling out during instruction, and not always following our "be safe, be respectful and be responsible" Trailblazer code. If your student needs your help- we will help them to advocate for it. Thank you so much for your support! 

Video-taping/photgraphing during remote instruction

​Feel free to take pictures of your child while they are loving learning during remote instruction, but please make sure that only your child and not the computer screen is visible in any photos you may take. Photographing the screen is a violation of the confidentiality/privacy of the other students in the class and is not permitted by WCPSS.

​Library book check out update

Starting Tuesday, September 8th, parents may pick up library books placed on hold by students between 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If your child has a library book ready to be picked up, you will receive an email notification from our library system, Follett Destiny. Just come to the front door of the school during those times, ring the bell, and staff will bring the books out to you. Books can be returned to a cart that will be outside of the front doors daily. Boosterthon Fundraiser

Our Boosterthon event continues this week! This is our only fundraiser for the year and this year instead of running laps, the kids will participate in a Virtual DanceFit! Our goal is to raise $16,000 that we will use towards technology for a morning news program. Here is a quick video overview of our fundraising program. https://vimeo.com/440692903/80cdfc177c.

Here are a few things to know about this important fundraiser:

• All families can support our school by either donating, sharing on funrun.com, or both. Students can receive rewards when parents share from funrun.com.

• All students get to participate in the Event day, regardless of financial participation.

• This fundraiser comes with an incredible character development program for students where they’ll be learning about the importance of teamwork, care, courage, grit, and celebration

Feliz Día del Trabajo, pioneros!

¡Espero que todos estén teniendo un gran fin de semana de tres días y disfruten de un poco de descanso y relajación! Consulte a continuación las actualizaciones de esta semana:

¿Cuánta ayuda es DEMASIADA ayuda?

En primer lugar, queríamos agradecerles por todo el apoyo que les ha brindado a nuestros maestros y sus hijos durante el aprendizaje a distancia. Esto en serio "toma un pueblo" y te lo agradecemos! Dicho esto, permita que su hijo asista a clase por su cuenta sin que usted se siente junto a él en la computadora. Estamos tratando de construir su independencia, y hemos tenido varios casos de padres que respondieron preguntas (en lugar del niño), gritaron durante la instrucción y no siempre siguieron nuestro código Trailblazer de "estar seguro, ser respetuoso y responsable". Si su estudiante necesita su ayuda, lo ayudaremos a abogar por ella. ¡Muchas gracias por su apoyo!

Grabación de video / fotografía durante la instrucción remota

No dude en tomar fotografías de su hijo mientras le encanta aprender durante la instrucción remota, pero asegúrese de que solo su hijo y no la pantalla de la computadora sea visible en las fotos que pueda tomar. Fotografiar la pantalla es una violación de la confidencialidad / privacidad de los otros estudiantes en la clase y WCPSS no lo permite.

Actualización de extracción de libros de la biblioteca

A partir del martes 8 de septiembre, los padres pueden recoger los libros de la biblioteca puestos en espera por los estudiantes entre las 9:00 a.m. y las 3:00 p.m. los martes y jueves. Si su hijo tiene un libro de la biblioteca listo para ser recogido, recibirá una notificación por correo electrónico de nuestro sistema de biblioteca, Follett Destiny. Simplemente venga a la puerta principal de la escuela durante esos momentos, toque el timbre y el personal le traerá los libros. Los libros se pueden devolver a un carrito que estará afuera de la puerta principal todos los días. ¡Feliz lectura!

Martes de Trailblazer

Recaudación de fondos de Boosterthon

¡Nuestro evento Boosterthon continúa esta semana! Este es nuestro único evento para recaudar fondos para el año y este año, en lugar de correr vueltas, los niños participarán en un DanceFit virtual. Nuestro objetivo es recaudar $ 16,000 que utilizaremos en tecnología para un programa de noticias matutino.
