The Trailblazer Times

Good evening Trailblazer families,

This week's edition of The Trailblazer Times is coming to you early as there is important information for the Fall Festival tomorrow. There will not be another email this week-end, as I have tried to capture all of the infomation here.

  • Fall Festival (including parking information)  | The PTA is looking forward to a fun Fall Festival tomorrow night.  The raffle baskets have been coming in all week and look amazing. Raffle tickets are $1 each.  Exact change is appreciated.  At the festival, we will be taking credit cards via Square. Don't forget to sign up to volunteer to be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift certificate to The Big Easy restaurant. The FV Fire Department is scheduled to have a fire truck at the Fall Festival from 5-7 pm.  The truck will be parked where the buses park, except facing out (opposite way in which the buses park during arrival and dismissal) in case they need to leave for an emergency.  Please park in the parking lot facing the gym to help us maintain a safe barrier around the truck. Thank you for your hard work.  It's going to be a great event and our Boomers chorus will be performing at 6:00!  Can't wait to see you all there!
  • Cafeteria procedure | Parents, we need your help. We love having our families eat lunch in the cafeteria with their child(ren). The children love to see you at school, whether volunteering, attending an event or conferences. Please refrain from wandering around the cafeteria and interacting with other children during lunch with your child. They are so excited to see you that they want your focus and attention. Your presence is special to them. Cherish these times.
  • Safety First | As I am visiting classrooms, I tell the students that I have the best job in the world because I get to work with children and adults. I also tell them that my two most important jobs are to ensure students are learning and to ensure their safety. This responsibility is also the job of all staff members, including all staff on carpool duty monitoring safety in the parking lots at arrival and dismissal. Please hang up your phone before you pull up to drop your child off in the mornings or when your lane is called to pull forward to the cones during afternoon dismissal. We have had some near misses with our staff members who are gathering carpool numbers or directing traffic. An injury, because someone is distracted, is not worth the phone call or text. Thanks for doing your part and being a role model for all children. Safety first!

I would like to welcome back track 4 on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 and wish Track 3 a happy and peaceful track out on Friday.  Remember that Monday, October 21, 2019 is a teacher workday and there is no school.

Also, help us keep our email addresses up to date. This email is sent to families who have active email accounts in Power School. If your email address changes, please send this in writing/email to your child's teacher so they can send it to the data manager to update our database. We will also post this message on the school website so you can access it that way. Have a great week-end!

Yours,

Jan Hargrove, Interim Principal
