We collected many canned food items for our local food bank. I thank our PTA for helping our Assistant Principal, Edmon Jones plan this event. I appreciate all of the parents, families, and students that came out for a night of fun. My hope is that all of our West Cary Community sees our school as a place that is open for them. We will continue to host other similar functions later this year and in the years to come.

    Grant Winners!

West Cary Middle School has received a grant of almost $3000 from Wake Electric as part of the NC Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bright Ideas Grant Program. The grant will allow the Orchestra to purchase a few electric string instruments (electric 5-string violin/viola, electric cello, electric pick-up for bass) so that all strings students will be able to explore current popular styles of music using authentic instruments. This is an exciting follow-up to last year's opportunity for some of our string players to perform with rock electric violinist Mark Wood.
