SRES School Updates 10.13.23
Good Evening, Lion Families,
Please review the information below and let me know if you have any questions. Enjoy your weekend!
- Hispanic Heritage Night Success
- Thanks for joining us for our Hispanic Heritage Night - it was a wonderful evening of song, dance, celebration, and culture. A special shoutout to Ms. Muniz and our Community Responsive Committee for planning this excellent event!
- Fall Open House - Curriculum Night
- Save the date for our fall Curriculum Night - October 19th from 5:00-7:15 PM. Join us to see a student musical performance, to hear about what your children are learning, and to learn how you can support your child with their academics at home. Please confirm your attendance by completing the form HERE. This will help us ensure that we have enough snacks. Click HERE to see the agenda and directions for the evening.
- Title I Presentation - You Are Invited!
- As you know, we are a Title I school. This means we receive additional funding from the federal government because we have a significant number of students who are elgible for free and reduced lunch. These funds are intended to help students and schools access needed resources for quality instruction and are generally used to hire additional staff members. Part of being a Title I school means communicating key information to you each year, including information about our family engagement policy and our home-school compact. Click HERE to see this information.
- If you are interested in sharing your thoughts on how Title I funds are spent and providing us with feedback on how we can better work with your family, please attend the virtual Title I presentation on Tuesday, October 24th, from 5:30-6:30 PM. This meeting will be held via Google Meet: Click HERE to access the link!
- Trunk or Treat - Hosted by the YMCA - Saturday, 10/28
- Come get some candy, view spooky car decorations, and have a ton of fun at the YMCA's 3rd annual Trunk or Treat! Trunk or Treat will be located at the Southeast Raleigh YMCA on Saturday, October 28th from 7-8:30 PM.
- Club ROAR (Reaching Our Awesome Results) - After School Tutoring
- We are hoping to start this program soon! Club ROAR is Southeast Raleigh Elementary School's after school program that provides intervention/enrichment to our wonderful students. Club ROAR will operate 3 days of the week: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week from 3:30-5:30 PM. A snack will be provided for all students, and transportation can be requested if needed. If you are interested, please fill out the survey HERE.
- Student Checkout in the Main Office
- As a reminder, no student checkout is allowed after 2:30 PM each day due to our need to prevent disruptions to dismissal procedures.
- SRES Family Handbook
- Please take some time to review the detailed school policies and procedures outlined in our handbook at THIS LINK. This handbook includes important information about arrival and dismissal, including carpool.
Sincerely,
Lamar Hill, Principal
