Good Evening, Lion Families,
Please review the information below and let me know if you have any questions. Enjoy your weekend!
- Swimming Lessons - First Week Success
- According to the students, this was the "best week ever" in PE! They have enjoyed learning to swim, and we are thrilled they are enjoying their specials and learning crucial survival skills.

- Fall Open House - Curriculum Night
- Save the date for our fall Curriculum Night - October 19th from 5:00-7:30 PM. Join us to see a student musical performance, to hear about what your children are learning, and to learn how you can support your child with their academics at home. Please confirm your attendance by completing the form HERE. This will help us ensure that we have enough snacks.
- Hiring a New Assistant Principal
- We are currently seeking a new assistant principal. If you are interested in providing feedback on the characteristics of the new assistant principal, complete the survey HERE. While we seek a new assistant principal, Ms. Kimberly Mitchell, a retired former principal, will serve as interim assistant principal. Her email address is kamitchell@wcpss.net.
- Student Drop-Off
- All parents will need to drop students off at the door to the school. For safety reasons, we cannot allow parents to walk their children to class. Any parents who wish to enter the school building must sign in at the main office and be screened by our digital sign-in system. Please note that any students that arrive after 8:30 will need to be signed in at the main office by a parent. These students will then need to wait to receive a pass to class.
- Student Checkout in the Main Office
- As a reminder, no student checkout is allowed after 2:30 PM each day due to our need to prevent disruptions to dismissal procedures.
- SRES Family Handbook
- Please take some time to review the detailed school policies and procedures outlined in our handbook at THIS LINK. This handbook includes important information about arrival and dismissal, including carpool.
Sincerely,
Lamar Hill, Principal
