W.I.N. Time Logo
  • What is W.I.N. Time?
W.I.N. stands for “What I Need” — a dedicated time each school day for students to get the academic help, enrichment, or personalized learning they need to be successful. At Apex Middle, W.I.N. Time takes place right after the first core class, from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m., for all students.

    What Happens During W.I.N. Time?
    • During W.I.N. Time, students may:
      • Receive targeted instruction in reading or math based on their learning needs.
      • Work on homework, make up missing assignments, or complete online learning (such as DreamBox or Delta Math).
      • Read independently or engage in other teacher-approved academic activities.
      • Meet one-on-one with teachers to review progress and set goals.
      • Participate in small-group social-emotional learning with a counselor.

    Our Goal
The purpose of W.I.N. Time is to give every student a consistent, structured block of time to focus on what they need most — whether that’s catching up, practicing skills, getting ahead, or having intentional check-ins with staff. By the end of each W.I.N. session, students should have fewer (or no) missing assignments and a clearer plan for success.
