Abby Stotsenberg, Principal

  • I am honored to serve as the founding principal of Wake Early College of Information and Biotechnologies. My passion and beliefs about education have been shaped over the past twenty-five years working in public schools. I started my career in Cumberland and Hoke Counties, where I served as a middle school language arts and social studies teacher. In 1999, I moved to Raleigh to be a social studies teacher at Southeast Raleigh High School, where I earned National Board Certification and served as the social studies department chair. I later earned a Masters degree and a Doctorate in educational leadership from North Carolina State University. I have had the pleasure of serving as an assistant principal at Leesville Road Middle School, as a curriculum and instructional specialist at the district level for middle and high school programs, and as the principal of Vernon Malone College and Career Academy in Raleigh.

We will build WECIB on a foundation of college and career skills, habits, and mindsets. We are looking for dedicated and motivated students with an interest in Biotechnology or Information Technology. The purpose of this school is to provide students with a running start towards their future.

Gloria Miranda, Assistant Principal

    • It is an honor to introduce myself to you as the Assistant Principal of Wake Early College of Information and Biotechnologies. I am excited to be in this position and looking forward to working with all stakeholders in making this a school of excellence.

With over 17 years of experience, I have served in various capacities that taught me how to address the comprehensive needs of students.  My journey includes being an early childhood educator, before/after school coordinator, and the Dean of Students/High School Counselor at Longview School for 9 years. In my last assignment before WECIB, I served as the Instructional Specialist facilitating professional development for the district, focusing on a variety of topics such as the community resiliency model, restorative practices, crisis prevention, and intervention. In addition, I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor.

I am very much looking forward to meeting each of you this coming year! If, throughout the year, you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me via email or phone.
