Ms. Sarah Lumbard

My name is Mrs. Sarah Lumbard, and I am excited to be teaching at Oakview Elementary school this year in 5th grade! I was born and raised in Fort Collins, Colorado. My family and I just moved to North Carolina this summer. I taught both elementary and middle school in Colorado for 4 years, as well as substitute teaching, classroom support, paraeducator and technology specialist. I earned my bachelor's degree from Liberty University in Elementary Education. I went on to do a year-long teaching residency in Boulder Valley Schools in Boulder, CO and received my teaching license and a Master's degree in Education and Human Development with a concentration in Early Literacy from the University of Colorado, Denver. I am currently pursuing my PhD in English Language Learning.
My husband, Mike, and I have two teenage daughters. Danika is 15 and Maeilyn is 13. We also have 2 four-legged children. Maui is a terrier mix and Athena is a German Shepherd. In my free time, I am an avid runner and yogi. I love trail and road running and am always training for marathons or ultra marathons. My family and I love to hike, camp, kayak, go to the beach, explore new places, and learn about local history, art, and culture.
I am thrilled to be a part of the Oakview family and teach in North Carolina this year!
