Hi Leopards! My name is Maureen Bard, and I am excited to continue my journey at Lead Mine Elementary. This will be my eleventh year teaching, tenth in third grade, and fifth at LME! I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA, where we put French fries on our salads and cheer on the Steelers! I graduated from Robert Morris University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.

I relocated to NC in 2014 and haven’t looked back since! My husband and I live in Raleigh with our sweet little pup, Rodney Aquarius Bard, age 6½. Gosh, they grow up so fast! We adopted him when he was 3 months old, and he has stolen our hearts in every way.

Some of my favorite things include crafting, baking, getting lost in a good book, spending time at the beach, exploring new trails, listening to country music and the Backstreet Boys (who deserve their own category), and occasionally eating Lunchables... guilty pleasure.

I am looking forward to a wonderful year guiding these kids to be the very best versions of themselves. We will learn and grow with one another and celebrate our many successes along the way. Can’t wait for all the new memories to be made!
