The Career & College Promise (CCP) dual enrollment spring application at Wake Tech is now open. CCP allows eligible high school students to take courses at the community college tuition-free. The program is primarily intended for 11th and 12th grade students who have a 2.8 unweighted GPA or higher. 9th and 10th grade students who are interested should review the eligibility criteria on Wake Tech's CCP website to carefully ensure they meet the higher standards and can provide the additional documentation required for 9th/10th graders. There will be CCP Information Sessions for students new to CCP on September 22nd, 29th, and October 6th during BOLT lunch in the media center. Students need to sign up on All Timely.

The links are live for families and students to order their 2025-26 Yearbooks for this school year. Information about ordering can be found under the Student Life under Yearbooks as well as in the Seniors - Class of 2026 section of the website.
-
We know that our carpool is congested, however, we do need to remind all families that you must follow our carpool procedures so we can keep everyone safe. There should be no drop offs or pick ups in our student parking lot. Also, in the afternoons, parents should not be pulling up past the carpool line to enter the staff parking lot in an effort to cut the line and wait for your student in the parking lot. We will begin enforcing consequences for parents and students who do not follow our carpool guidelines. We need you, our parents, to show your students that it’s important to “do the right thing” and follow our school rules. Be that parent that sets a good example for our students.
-
As we opened school, students have been doing a good job with the district’s new wireless communications policies. Please continue to reinforce with your students the importance of following the district’s new policy as we are beginning to see a rise in violations now that we are a few weeks into school. We really do not want to get into situations where we have to confiscate devices and require parents to come to school to pick them up. Thanks for your help with this.
-
I would like to remind all of our families that the first PTSA general meeting will be held next Tuesday on September 16th at 6:30 in our media center. We hope to see lots of parents in attendance!
-
Interim reports are going to be provided to students now that we have completed our third week of school. Check on your student’s academic progress and connect with their teacher if you have any questions about your student’s grades.
Have a great weekend and as always, Go Storm!

I think our students and staff are worn out getting back into the daily routine of school. Our students have done a great job getting back into the swing of things! I do have a few important things we need our parents to know.
-
Senior Families: Please join us on Wednesday September 10th from 5:30-8:00 for an informative evening designed to help you and your student navigate senior year. Please remember when you are coming out to sporting or arts events at school, WCPSS still has a clear bag policy. Please be sure to share this with any family members or friends who may be joining you to attend our games and performances throughout the year that may not be familiar with the school system policy. Also, please remember that no outside food or drinks are allowed when attending events.
-
If you don’t already have it on your calendar, please remember our Meet the Teacher Open House is scheduled for Wednesday, September 10th. This will be an opportunity for you to walk your student’s schedule and hear from their teacher about what your student will be learning this semester.

Principal Message - Aug 22
Posted by Wade Martin on 8/22/2025Hello, this is Wade Martin calling from WSHS with the Friday Storm Report. It is that time, the first week of school starts next Monday! I have a few important things to know about the start of school.
-
I hope to see everyone out tonight at our first home football game. Game time is 7:00. Let’s pack our stadium and get this season started off with a BOLT of energy from our Storm school community!
-
We will be operating on a modified bell schedule during the first three days of school. Be sure to check out our bell schedules linked on the website under Our School. Our regular BOLT lunch will not start until Thursday.
-
We will be implementing the new WCPSS Wireless Communications policy starting on day 1 here at WSHS. We will be reviewing expectations with all of our students on the first day of school. We will need our parents' support as we work to follow the new State and District guidelines regarding wireless communication devices which includes cell phones, earbuds, headphones, smart watches, etc. Students will be expected to use their district issued Chromebooks as their instructional technology device while in school. Our student procedures and expectations are outlined in our WSHS Student Handbook which is linked in our website under Our School > Back to School.
-
If you are going to be using our carpool loop as your means of transportation please have patience during the first few days of school as the volume of cars is always higher than normal while our school buses work out their route times.
-
I would like to remind all of our families that the latest time for check out from school is 1:45. Due to the congestion in the carpool area, this is a hard stop time for checkouts. We sincerely appreciate your support and understanding regarding this school rule.
We are very excited to welcome our students back to school next week. Thank you all for your continued support of our Storm school community. GO STORM!

This Friday, August 22nd the PTSA together with our Senior Class advisors are hosting our 3rd Annual Senior Sunrise event. Seniors should arrive at our stadium by 6:00am to take part in the sunrise photo. Breakfast items will be provided by our PTSA and Seniors can then chalk their parking spots following the breakfast. We know it early, but we do not control the sunrise time and hope our Seniors can make it to the event.
Thanks and have a great last week of summer break!

Posted by Wade Martin on 8/8/2025Hello, this is Wade Martin calling from WSHS with the Summer Friday Storm Report.
Well, we are getting very close to the end of summer for our Storm families. Fall sports have started, parking and lunch pass distribution has begun for our juniors and seniors and I hear the marching band camp music echoing down the halls here at school. I have a few quick updates for our students and families.
-
Student class schedules for the 25-26 school year will be finalized on August 13th. A schedule review request form will be posted on the Willow Spring High School website on the 13th and will close on August 20th. The form will reopen on the first day of school. Please note that schedule adjustments will only be made if a student has a "hole" in their schedule, if they are missing a prerequisite, or if they would like to increase rigor in a core class. Elective change requests will be denied. Students should monitor their WCPSS student email for notifications about schedule adjustment requests.
-

Principal Message - July 28
Posted by Wade Martin on 7/28/2025Hello, this is Wade Martin calling from WSHS with another summer Storm Update.
- I am excited to announce that SchoolCash Online is working with Infinite Campus. All student dues, off-campus lunch passes and parking fees can now be paid on-line. Families should have received an email from the SchoolCash system letting them know that they can now access the online payment option. Students planning to get off campus lunch passes and parking passes should plan to pay their student dues and other fees online in advance of picking up your passes next week.
I have a number of announcements from our PTSA and Storm Booster Club in preparation for our opening in just a few weeks.
- Score big savings with the Storm Season Game Pass-get full access to all Storm home games all school year. Discounted thru 8/15. The pass pays for itself in just a few games-don't miss out. Your Storm friends will tell you, it's a steal. Purchase via Gofan and search Willow Spring Storm Club. The link and additional information is also available on the Storm Club's social media pages. https://gofan.co/event/3691634?schoolId=NC86334_1
- Rising Juniors and Seniors have the opportunity to win a free parking spot of their choice! The PTSA is partnering with school administration to grant one lucky winner the parking spot of their dreams for the 2025-26 school year. Tickets are 1 for $20 or 5 for $90, and may be purchased in the online PTSA spirit shop until 11:59pm on July 31st. All entries will be placed into an app and the winner selected at random. The winner will be notified via email and must respond within 5 days. The winner's class dues/fees must be paid in full before they are able to receive their parking spot prize! Good luck!
- Our PTSA membership drive will begin August 1st! It is our hope that you will join or renew your membership and partner with us in making a real difference in the lives of students and staff. Remember, PTSA membership doesn’t mean that you are automatically signing up to volunteer – but we welcome you to do both! Membership is simply a tangible way to show your support for the school, and we are able to utilize those funds to implement the various programs that benefit the total student body. PTSA is for everyone! Memberships will be available for purchase/renewal in our online Spirit Shop.
- We need volunteers for a few more programs and activities, including a few Senior Class events that supplement the school’s Senior plans. If you’re interested in becoming more involved with the Storm community, please take a look at our PTSA volunteer interest form. We’d love to hear from you!
Thank you for your continued support of our school. Let’s Go Storm!

Principal Update - Parking and Lunch Passes - 7/22
Posted by Wade Martin on 7/22/2025Hello, this is Wade Martin from WSHS with an update for our Junior and Senior families about parking and off campus lunch passes.
We have posted the links for the questionnaires and applications for our 25-26 Parking and Lunch Passes. The links are in the Storm News section under Parking & Lunch Passes for 25-26. At this time, the online payment systems are not connected with Infinite Campus so we are planning for Cash and Check payments. All in-person transactions will take place per the schedules posted on our website. Should the online payment system become available prior to our scheduled dates, we will let you all know so that you can pay in advance and speed up the process on the day of in-person pass pickups.
Thanks so much and we look forward to seeing you all soon!
