I have been a school counselor in WCPSS for over 20 years and love it! I have worked at Enloe High School, Sanderson High School, and Wakefield Middle School. I am so excited to work with students and families at Score Academy! 

I attended UNC-Greensboro for my Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Sociology and The Citadel for my Master of School Counseling degree. I am also a National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certified counselor. 

In my free time, I love to read, volunteer and travel.

I am a dedicated and compassionate school counselor with over a decade of experience supporting students' academic, social-emotional, and post-secondary growth. I am passionate about helping students realize their full potential and successfully navigate life after high school. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and my Master of Arts in School Counseling from North Carolina Central University. I am a National Certified Counselor and hold ASCA Specialist certifications in Trauma & Crisis, College Admissions and Career Development. 

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my daughter, reading, watching TV, playing The Sims, and exercising. I am excited to continue supporting SCORE Academy students in achieving their goals!

The 2025-26 school year will be my third year at SCORE Academy, but I have been an educator for 25 years. After earning my B.A. in History from NC State University, I taught social studies & weight training and coached football at Broughton High School for 16 years, including serving as the head coach for three seasons. In 2016, I transitioned to Apex Friendship High School to serve as the Credit Recovery Coordinator and intervention coach. Though I relished being a classroom teacher, I loved my intervention and student support role so much that I earned my M.Ed. in School Counseling from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2019. This will be my seventh year as a school counselor, and I'm looking forward to supporting our families, building strong relationships, and helping our students find success in high school and beyond.

This is my 4th year at SCORE Academy! I am passionate about helping students achieve their goals and be their best selves. I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of South Carolina and my Master of Education in School Counseling from UNC-Chapel Hill. I enjoy spending time with my son, husband, and two pets in my free time!

I have a passion for engagement, social justice and equality. That has manifested for me in my work with youth and young adults. I have a BA in history and an M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction, and I received my MSW (Master's in Social Work) from NC State in 2009. I also received my LCSW in 2012. I believe strongly that my role in education is to witness and encourage youth and young adults to make choices to either create or further their life goals.  

I have been working as an SAP Coordinator since 2009. I have two awesome kids and a spouse. I live in downtown Raleigh, and I love having chickens!

I'm entering my third year as a school counselor, but I have worked with children and families for many years.
