    Oakview Updates:

    • From now until the end of the year, we have a lot of assessments occuring. Parents, please limit classroom and lunchroom visits, with the exception of classroom learning experiences, as communicated by classroom teachers.  environment.s This helps us maintain a safe and secure learning environment. Due to EOG testing, no visitors should be here May 25 - June 1. That includes lunchroom and classroom visits.
    • Ms. Woosley will be celebrated Thursday night at the Teacher of the year banquet. Congratulations, Ms. Woosley!
    • Mr. Culp graduates Friday! He will be graduating with his Master of School Administration. We also have Ms. Simpson graduating with her degree in school counseling from UNC. Mr. Hall is graduating with his elementary education degree NCCU. Congratulations!

    Events Coming Up:

    • May 7 - 11: Teacher Appreciation Week Ideas
      • MONDAY - Words from the Heart Day
        (simple thank you notes, pictures, thankful and encouraging words)
      • TUESDAY - Love from the Oven Day
        (anything food-related, nothing homemade please, must be store bought)
      • WEDNESDAY - Specialist Surprise Day
        (This day will be devoted to our specialist teachers.
        Send them a thankful note, something sweet or whatever you wish.)
      • THURSDAY - Book Dedication Day
        (Have your child dedicate his/her favorite grade level appropriate book to their teacher. It can be gently used or new. The book can have a simple message to the teacher on the inside cover and signed by your child.)
      • FRIDAY - Favorite Things Day
        (surprise your teacher with one of their favorite things)
    • Tuesday, May 8: Spirit Night as Mama Birds- Bring THIS flyer
    • Wednesday, May 9 - Walk/Bike to School Day.  Meet at The Club of 12 Oaks and walk/bike to school!
    • Wednesday, May 9- Field Day.

      • Friday: Team/School Spirit Day
    • EOG Testing will begin on Friday, May 25.  It is very important that all students are in school for the entire day.  Testing will resume on Tuesday, May 29 - Friday, June 1.  Testing days are separated by the Memorial Day Holiday, however, it is critical that students not miss school during the EOG Testing unless there are family emergencies or illness.
