Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Kim Harrison, is a 22-year veteran in education. A transplant from Connecticut, Ms. Harrison attended North Carolina Central University where she earned a BS in Business Education and North Carolina State University earning an MS in School Administration.
She began her education career in 1995 at William G. Enloe High School as a business teacher and advisor of Future Business Leader of America (FBLA). In 2004 she helped opened Knightdale High School as an inaugural faculty member and remained there until 2007 when she entered administration. Ms. Harrison began as an assistant principal at Longview School in Raleigh where she remained for three years until arriving at Mary E. Phillips High School in 2010. She currently serves as our Assistant Principal of Instruction.
Ms. Harrison has been instrumental in the creation and implementation of several programs for the advancement of students ranging from instituting enrichment and remediation programs to planning and implementing of online registration. She has achieved the following accolades for her work in education: Employee Excellence Award, Knightdale High School Teacher of the Year, Wake County Teacher of the Year Finalist and an inducted into the Business Information Technology Education Hall of Fame.
Ms. Harrison lives by the saying “no one cares what you know until they know that you care.” In her free time she enjoys learning, doing math, teaching, traveling, meeting new people and going to the beach.
