Hey, Lead Mine Leopards!  My name is Sarah Smith and this will be my 13th year teaching! I grew up in New Bern, NC and I still enjoy visiting my parents in my hometown.  I earned my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Child Development at East Carolina University.  Go Pirates!  

 

I began my teaching career in Greenville, NC where I taught Kindergarten for 2 years and First Grade for 1 year before moving to Raleigh. This year, I will have been teaching at Lead Mine for 10 years and it is truly the best place to be! I love Kindergarten because I love being a child's first elementary school teacher. My hope is to instill a love for school, friends, teachers, and learning in my students! 

 

My husband is Trey, and we have a sweet, busy boy, Beau, who will be 3 in October! We also have a sweet yellow Lab named Wade. I'm so excited to love, encourage, and teach your children this year. My favorite quote is, "The best part about my classroom is who I share it with."
