Hey there, Leopards! My name is Shelley Statzer and I am excited to officially join the LME family! I started substitute teaching in 2022 and uncovered a love and passion for working with/teaching children that has led me to a permanent role as an instructional assistant.

I am originally from East Tennessee, but relocated to Raleigh in 2009 (I love it here)!! I have a 10-year-old son (Liam), who keeps me on my toes and at the football field, a supportive fiancé (Jarion), who I’m very thankful for, and two cats (Dash and Ginger), that means the world to me! My favorite thing to do is cruise (to a tropical destination, of course), but going to the beach is a close second on my list of favorites.

I’m really looking forward to a great year at Lead Mine! I can’t wait to see the familiar faces and meet the new ones!
