Hi Leopards! My name is Ilana Kate Dunne and I love being a part of the Lead Mine family! After six amazing years in Kindergarten, I’m excited to begin my seventh year of teaching with a brand-new adventure: Second Grade!

I am originally from Ireland and moved to Raleigh when I was a teenager. I graduated from NC State with a degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in STEM. Go Pack!

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy exploring Raleigh, taking trips with my husband Ben, trying new restaurants, and decorating my home with the latest finds from Home Goods.

Just as I guide my students through their own learning journeys, I’m excited to continue growing as an educator too. I can’t wait to explore all that Second Grade has in store with our amazing class this year!
