    Engineering (K-5)

The Engineering magnet program brings together science, technology, engineering and math (also called STEM) in ways that make learning fun. Students work together to ask, imagine, plan, create and improve as a way to solve real world problems and improve learning in all subjects areas. Through this approach, students begin to see how those subjects are relevant to what they are studying in the classroom and the real world.

    • Brentwood Magnet Elementary School of Engineering has a learning environment focused on the integration of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to solve real-world problems. Students explore these challenges both in the classroom and in our Makerspace where both the classroom teacher and a STEM Coordinator guide them.
    • Through learning the engineering design process, students are taught to design, build, test, and improve. These skills help them excel in all content areas.
    • Brentwood partners with N.C. State University’s College of Engineering and uses the Engineering is Elementary program developed by the Museum of Science in Boston.
