Principal Message for January 17, 2025

Dear Dragon Families,

What a fantastic (and chilly!) week we have had at Dillard Drive Magnet Middle School! A special thank you to everyone who joined us for our International Night—what an incredible celebration of culture and community! Together, we explored and learned about over 50 countries, making it a memorable event for all. On January 16, our students completed their Star Reading mid-year assessment, which provides valuable insights to help our teachers tailor instruction to meet student needs. Looking ahead, we are excited for our Winter Dance this Friday, January 24, at 5:00 PM. Admission is $5, and students must remain eligible by avoiding ISS or OSS this week and next.

Martin Luther King Jr. holiday is on Monday. I encourage our families to reflect on Dr. King’s vision of equality, justice, and service to others. His legacy reminds us of the power we hold as citizens to inspire and uplift others.

Lastly, we are thrilled to announce that Dillard Drive Magnet Middle School has been named a Magnet Schools of America School of Excellence for the second year in a row! This recognition highlights our hard work and dedication to excellence—an accomplishment we can all celebrate!

Ask your student about….

6th – Ask your 6th grader about finishing up their essay in ELA

7th – Ask your 7th grader about their math test

8th - Ask your 8th grader about their science test

ALL – STAR Reading Assessment

Your Proud Principal,

Margaret Feldman
