Weekly Message for 8-27-23

Posted by Justin Carrington on 8/27/2023

Hello Pine Hollow Middle School community. This is your principal, Dr. Carrington, with the weekly family message for the week of August 27, 2023!

Bus Transportation Updates

As was shared last week, traditional schools begin on Monday (8/28). As such, we anticipate some delays with bus transportation given the number of bus drivers we have in the district and the 90,000 students that they transport. Updated route information is available in PowerSchool and on the Transportation page of our school site under the “Families” button on the homepage.

Fall Picture Day on August 29

Picture Day is this week on Tuesday, August 29. Students will take pictures during the period in which they have Health/PE. As a reminder, these pictures will be featured in the yearbook, so all students should plan to take their picture at this time. Click here to access picture package pricing information.  Strawbridge Portrait Package envelopes were also sent home with students last week. Parents/guardians may also wish to sign up for the online Strawbridge subscriber account to receive emails letting them know when pictures are ready to order as well as promotional deals and discounts on their child's pictures.

Parent Flight Crew Night on September 7

We invite all parents and guardians to join us for a special presentation on “Steps to Success for Your Middle Schooler and How You Can Support Them” on September 7 at 5:30 pm here at Pine Hollow. As a part of this session, parents will have the chance to hear directly from Dr. Carrington about how they can support their student(s) at Pine Hollow and get engaged in and around the school. Within this session, parents will also learn about ways to connect with school staff, different features of Canvas Parent Observer accounts, as well as how to get the most out of the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
