  • Principal's Weekly Message for Oct. 8, 2017

Posted by Andrew Livengood at 10/8/2017 6:00:00 AM

Hello Pine Hollow Middle School community. This is your principal, Andrew Livengood, with the weekly message for October 8.

    • Pictures: Strawbridge Studios will be here on Tues., Oct. 10 to take make-up and re-take pictures for students on Track 1 & 3.
    • Email change: Pine Hollow staff email is in the process of changing from LotusNotes to Microsoft Outlook. Staff email addresses will not change, but it will take us a few days to get used to the new format and features. It may take teachers an extra day or so to respond to emails during this transition. Thank you for your patience.
    • Report Cards: Students on Tracks 1, 2 and 3 received their report card on Oct. 6.
    • Athletics: All of our games this week are away at East Millbrook. The soccer and volleyball teams play on Wed., Oct. 11 and the football team plays on Thursday, Oct. 12. Game time for all games is 4:00 and admission is $5. Please come out and support the teams.
    • Campus Clean-up: Saturday, October 14 from 8AM-noon. We will be pulling weeds and spreading mulch. Please bring your shovels, rakes, wheel barrows, gloves, etc. and help spruce up our campus.
    • From Student Services: Muhs and Mr. Martin invite PHMS parents to one of two upcoming informational sessions on “My Child, Your Child & Social Media.”  The session will provide parents with a deeper awareness of the power of social media, the Top 10 Hottest Teen Apps, and tips/strategies/tools to assist you and your child to be safer if/when he/she navigates the internet/social media world.  Sessions will be held in the PHMS auditorium on Monday, October 16, 2017 @ 6:30 PM and again on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 @ 9:30 AM
    • Carpool procedures: Please remember that all cars are expected to travel through the carpool line until reaching the curb in front of the school. All students are expected to remain by the curb until their ride pulls up. There has been a recent increase in parents parking in the lot and then walking up to get their child in order to avoid waiting in carpool. This is dangerous and unfair to those who are following the established procedures. Everyone’s time is precious and carpool runs better, and is much safer, when we all follow the established procedures. Thank you for your cooperation!
    • NC State Fair: The State Fair is again running a special promotion for WCPSS in which schools earn money for tickets sold online. • Friday, Oct. 27: Favorite Sports Team Day
    • From the PTSA:
      • We are currently flying at an altitude of $6,700! Your donation helps to fund the PTSA budget. We cannot provide the great things planned without YOU. Help us reach our cruising altitude of $20,000 by Oct. 11. Please donate today!

  • Principal's Weekly Message for August 20, 2017

Posted by Andrew Livengood at 8/18/2017

Hello Pine Hollow Middle School community. This is your principal, Andrew Livengood, with the weekly message for August 20.

    • Solar Eclipse: We will experience a near-total solar eclipse on Monday, August 21. While an eclipse can be one of nature’s most awesome events, it can also result in permanent damage to the eye if viewed without the appropriate eye protection. We will remind students not to look directly at the sun during the eclipse, and we ask parents to help us reinforce this with your child(ren). Thank you for your help in keeping our students safe during the eclipse.
