Weekly Message for 3-20-22

Posted by Andrew Livengood on 3/20/2022

Hello Pine Hollow Middle School community. This is your principal, Andrew Livengood, with the weekly message for March 20.

  • This Week: It’s a five-day week for track 3&4 students. Track 4 tracks out on Friday and Track 1 students return next Monday, March 28.
  • From Our Athletic Director, Mr. Adams: We had a great opening to the Spring Season last week.  Our teams competed well, and it was great to see them out there for the first time since 2020.  Softball, Girls Track and Boys Soccer all found the win column.  The Pilots are back in action this week with Carroll.  Soccer is home and Track is Away.  Softball travels to Wakefield on Monday and have their home opener on Thursday vs Durant.   Congratulations to Seppi M. She broke the school record for shot put this week at 28'6".  The previous record was set back in 2016.   You can keep up with our teams on the team pages portion of the athletic website. https://www.wakecountyathletics.com/page/show/5721538-pine-hollow-team-pages
  • Track Change Requests: We are now accepting track change requests for next school year via this Google Survey: https://forms.gle/sgCwvauEZRkEazyJ6 The window will close at 11:59PM on Sunday, April 3. No action is required if you like the track your student is on now. We will not be able to finalize track assignments until the end of April/beginning of May. We must wait for the YR elementary schools to finalize their track assignments first to ensure all siblings are aligned to the same track.
  • Electives for Next Year: It is almost time for middle school electives registration! Our Student Services team will start pushing into classes this week to have students sign up for electives. Click here to visit the Student Services website to get more information on the updated electives registration sheets, course descriptions, and knowing when your child's track will have their registration session. If you have any questions on this, please email your child's school counselor.
  • Track 4 Picture Packets: A reminder that students need to either purchase the pictures or return them to school.
  • Teacher Recognition Program:  Is there a teacher or staff member you would like to celebrate for doing a terrific job? Has someone been consistently outstanding or maybe gone above-and-beyond recently for your student/family? If so, I encourage you to nominate that person for our new Top Gun Staff Member of the Month award. There aren’t any firm rules or requirements to nominate someone for recognition. The point of this is to recognize a teacher or two each month who was nominated by a student or parent. The teacher(s) would be recognized in front of their peers at the next staff meeting. In order to nominate someone, just fill out this form and make sure to clearly explain why you think they are deserving of this recognition.
