Hello Pine Hollow Middle School community. This is your principal, Andrew Livengood, with the weekly message for June 6.

  • This Week: This week is a five-day week for all students. The last day of school for this year is Monday, June 21. We begin EOGs this week. See below for details. Plan A students still come to school on VA test days!
  • EOG/EOC Test Calendar:
    • VA Testing:
      • Tuesday, June 8:VA ONLY -- 6th, 7th, 8th grade Math EOG; 8th grade Math 1 EOC
      • Wednesday, June 9thVA ONLY-- 6th, 7th, 8th grade ELA EOG
      • Thursday, June 10thVA and Plan A--7th grade Math 1 EOC
      • Tuesday, June 15thVA and Plan A-- 8th grade Science EOG
      • If you did not complete the survey last month to sign your VA student up to test, we will NOT have testing materials for your VA student on the above days. If you changed your mind and do want your VA student to test now, please contact our Test Coordinator, Ms. Stern, at jstern@wcpss.net so she can add their name to the rosters and make sure we have materials for them.
      • Similarly, if you completed the survey indicating your VA student will test and now you have decided not to send them to school to test, please let Ms. Stern know so that we can remove your VA student from the testing rosters.
      • VA students must be at school no later than 8:05 each day.
      • Plan A students come to school each day the VA students are testing.
    • Plan A Testing:
      • Thursday, June 10th: 8th grade Math EOG; 7th grade and 8th grade Math 1 EOC
      • Monday, June 14th: 6th grade Math EOG; 7th and 8th grade ELA EOG
      • Tuesday, June 15th: 6th grade ELA EOG; 7th grade Math EOG; 8th grade Science EOG
  • Annual WCPSS Student Survey: Parents are asked to please have your child complete the survey found at this link. Student may respond until June 30.
  • From Our Athletic Director: Parents, I know you are anxiously waiting for news about our upcoming sports year. We have not had our final AD meeting for this year, and therefore I do not know the changes that will take place.  I will get information out to you as soon as I can, through the athletic website, twitter and instagram.  Stay tuned.
  • Student Connectivity Devices--Hotspots: All internet “hotspots” issued to students must be returned by the last day of this school year. Parents can send them to school with their child (if they have returned to in-person learning) or drop them off at the main office (VA and in-person students). All hotspots will be turned off after the last day of school. Hotspots do not have to be returned to the school from which they were checked out. They can be returned to any school in the district.
  • Student Chromebooks: Students who will remain in WCPSS next year (even if they will be at a different WCPSS school) should keep a device if one was issued to them. The only students who should return a Chromebook are those who are graduating or otherwise leaving the district (i.e. withdrawing).
  • Calendars for next year: Click here for the 21-22 calendars.
  • NJHS: Current 7th grade students who are interested in applying to Pine Hollow Middle School's National Junior Honor Society will need to read the overview for applying to NJHS. NJHS is a national organization based on scholarship, leadership, service, character and citizenship. Students must have a 3.8 GPA, have no disciplinary issues, and a heart for service and leadership.  A Google Form application will need to be completed by June 11. The application can be found in the NJHS overview Google Document. Students who earn admittance into NJHS will be notified when they return to school in July for the 2021-2022 school year. Please email Ms. West or Mr. Kirby for specific questions.
  • New Teacher Recognition Program: Is there a teacher or staff member you would like to celebrate for doing a terrific job? Has someone been consistently outstanding or maybe gone above-and-beyond recently for your student/family? If so, I encourage you to nominate that person for our new Top Gun Staff Member of the Month award. There aren’t any firm rules or requirements to nominate someone for recognition. The point of this is to recognize a teacher or two each month who was nominated by a student or parent. The teacher(s) would be recognized in front of their peers at the next staff meeting. In order to nominate someone, just fill out this form and make sure to clearly explain why you think they are deserving of this recognition.
  • Yearbooks: There are only a few yearbooks left for purchase! Buy now to reserve your copy. You're going to want to remember this unique year! Go to yearbookordercenter.com and enter the code 21759. Once the yearbooks are delivered to the school, you will receive an email with directions on how to pick up your child's book if they are virtual. Yearbooks will be passed out at school to Plan A students.
  • Have a great week and remember, at Pine Hollow Middle School the sky is the limit!
