Greetings Families,
As we observe Bully Prevention Month, I want to take a moment to reinforce our school’s commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for all students. Bullying in any form goes against the values we strive to instill in our students every day.
While we are proactive in teaching our students about kindness, empathy, and conflict resolution; we understand that challenges can arise. Please know that we take any reports of bullying very seriously, and we work closely with all students involved to address issues immediately. We also encourage open communication between families and the school to ensure that we can work together in supporting positive behavior and addressing any concerns as they arise.
We are always working to ensure every child feels valued and safe at Douglas. Thank you for your ongoing support in helping us build a positive and supportive school community.
Positivity Project: For the week of September 30 - October 4, students will be learning about the strength of OPM - Being present and giving others my attention
Please check out the Weekly Family Letter. Students will learn that when we are with other people, we are present and give them our full attention.
School Cash Online
School Cash Online is the new way to pay for field trips and other activities. Information about how to register for a School Cash Online account is available in English and in Spanish. School Cash Online replaces OSP (Online School Payment) which was used in prior years.
Disability Awareness
October is Disability Awareness Month. During this month, and always, we will promote positive attitudes at Douglas, creating a culture of mutual respect, understanding, and equal opportunities for all.

Al observar el Mes de Prevención del Acoso Escolar, quiero tomar un momento para reforzar el compromiso de nuestra escuela de fomentar un ambiente de aprendizaje seguro, inclusivo y respetuoso para todos los estudiantes. El acoso en cualquier forma va en contra de los valores que nos esforzamos por inculcar en nuestros estudiantes todos los días.
Aunque somos proactivos en enseñar a nuestros estudiantes sobre la amabilidad, la empatía y la resolución de conflictos, entendemos que pueden surgir desafíos. Tengan en cuenta que tomamos muy en serio cualquier informe de acoso y trabajamos estrechamente con todos los estudiantes involucrados para abordar los problemas de inmediato. También alentamos la comunicación abierta entre las familias y la escuela para asegurarnos de que podamos trabajar juntos en el apoyo al comportamiento positivo y abordar cualquier preocupación a medida que surja.
Siempre estamos trabajando para asegurar que cada niño se sienta valorado y seguro en Douglas. Gracias por su apoyo continuo en ayudarnos a construir una comunidad escolar positiva.

Octubre es el Mes de Concienciación sobre la Discapacidad. Durante este mes, y siempre, promoveremos actitudes positivas en Douglas, creando una cultura de respeto mutuo, comprensión y oportunidades iguales para todos.
Actualización sobre el Almuerzo
¡Completen la solicitud de almuerzo gratuito o reducido AHORA! Las familias deben volver a aplicar cada año. Los beneficios del año pasado expiran el 10 de octubre, así que completen la nueva solicitud hoy mismo.
