Hispanic Heritage Month
We are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15- October 15.
- Monday, September 30th- Please join us in wearing a t-shirt or traditional attire from your Spanish-speaking country or another one you're familiar with.
- Friday October 4th- Wear the colors of the Latin American flags (The colors most associated with Latin American countries are red, navy blue, sky blue, green and yellow).
- Monday, October 7th- Día del sombrero leaders are invited to come with their favorite or representative hat from their country.
- Friday, October 15th- Wear neon colors highlighting Hispanic Heritage Month
School Improvement Team
Thank you to Brooke Marchetti and Mike Peterson for volunteering to serve as parent representatives on the School Improvement Team. Additionally, I want to express my gratitude to everyone who showed interest in participating on the team. Your support and willingness to contribute are greatly appreciated.

Our PTA is always in need of volunteers, and your time and talent can benefit Douglas in so many ways! Are you a gardener? Photographer? Have a business or skill and can donate in-kind services? Depending upon your interest, talent or business, we have an opportunity for you. Please fill out the Volunteer Interest Form or Contact Us. Information about Open Board Positions and Committee Chair Positions can be found here. Also, please be sure to complete the WCPSS Volunteer registration in order to be able to volunteer in-person.
Mes de la Herencia Hispana
Celebraremos el Mes de la Herencia Hispana del 15 de septiembre al 15 de octubre.
- Lunes 30 de septiembre - Únase a nosotros vistiendo una camiseta o vestimenta tradicional de su país de habla hispana o de otro con el que esté familiarizado.
- Viernes 4 de octubre - Usar los colores de las banderas latinoamericanas (Los colores más asociados a los países latinoamericanos son el rojo, azul marino, azul cielo, verde y amarillo).
- Lunes 7 de octubre - Día del sombrero- se invita a los estudiantes a venir con su sombrero favorito o representativo de su país.
- Viernes 15 de octubre - Use colores neón que resalten el Mes de la Herencia Hispana
Equipo de mejora escolar
Agradezco a Brooke Marchetti y a Mike Peterson por ofrecerse como representantes de los padres en el Equipo de Mejora Escolar. Además, quiero expresar mi gratitud a todos los que mostraron interés en participar en el equipo. Su apoyo y su disposición a contribuir son muy apreciados.
Puertas Abiertas

Jueves 3 de octubre: Jornada laboral para profesores; no hay clases para estudiantes y Gran día del espíritu aéreo 10:00-8 pm. Menciona a Douglas y la PTA recibe 50% de los ingresos
Miércoles, octubre r9 :Día de caminar y andar en bicicleta a la escuela: la PTA está buscando voluntarios para dirigir el evento.
