BES MARCH READING MADNESS

During the month of March, we are going to be celebrating our love of basketball and books through a March Madness challenge. We are encouraging all students to participate in this friendly challenge throughout the month. This is a great nightly activity for all ages.

Each night Monday-Friday we ask students to read for 20-30 minutes with an adult, sibling, or friend. Once a student reads, they need to put the number of minutes on the calendar provided and get an adult's signature. Students will be working to earn prizes for themselves and their class. Recording minutes read on the weekend is also an option! Students are responsible for keeping up with their own reading log. They must have it signed to earn the prizes.

At school, we will be completing a bracket book challenge to find out what our favorite books are at Briarcliff!  We have also included a list of questions to help you talk with your student about the book/s they are reading at night

Please make sure your student brings their calendar back to school every Friday morning to keep track of the minutes read.  All sheets are due by March 30th. The calendar will come home on Wednesday, March 1st.

Spirit Booth

Hi Briarcliff Families!

We are starting our Spirit Booth on Wednesday mornings.  Some of our 5th-grade students will be helping Mrs. Viverette sell fun and practical school supplies.  The school supplies range from 25 cents to $1.50.  We are selling pencils, fidget toppers, pencil erasers, and sharpeners.  We will only accept cash at this time.  Students will have an opportunity to earn Briarcliff Bucks for excellent classroom behavior.  The spirit booth will be located outside the cafeteria.  All proceeds from the spirit booth will go back to our school.  Please contact Cammie Viverette with questions, cviverette@wcpss.net

Tables Needed for Book Fair

We are going to need to borrow 8 folding tables for our Book Fair. Since it is the same week as Multicultural night we will need a lot more tables. If you have a 6-foot or longer folding table that we can borrow, we would need it dropped off by Monday, March 6th in the morning. If you can help us, please complete this form

WCPSS: How can I better control the Chromebook use at home?

Occasionally, parents ask for additional parental controls for their children. We encourage parents to speak with their Internet Service Provider to understand what options are available on their home network.

We do not support or endorse the solutions in the document below but have made them available for parents who want to use them. WCPSS takes no responsibility for the use of these tools or the consequences that may arise from their use. Parental Control Solutions
