Weather Make-up Days

Due to days missed because of the hurricane we will now have school on November 1st and December 20th.

SIGN IN to Visit

We are always excited to have families and other visitors come to our school. With that being said we are focused on school safety as well. Starting Monday, September 9th we will require ALL parents to sign in and get a sticker. This allows us to know who is in the building in case of an emergency. You will need to get a sticker even if you are just walking your child to class.

Independence Day is September 23rd

As students get adjusted to the school year we have appreciated parents supporting them by getting them to class, having breakfast with them, and stopping to say hello to the teachers. As of Monday, September 23rd we will not be allowing parents to walk students to class or have breakfast. This really teaches students to be independent and allows teachers to get their day started. It also helps us with the overall safety of the school. If you do need to see a teacher please send them an email or call and ask Judy to get them a message.

Daily Drop-off and Pick Up

Drop off times are 8:45-9:15

Pick up times are from 3:45-4:00

  • No drop off prior to 8:45 as there is no staff to monitor students,

  • You may NOT park on Pond Street to drop off students for safety reasons.

  • Carpoolers must remain in their cars in the carpool line at all times.
  • You must have your carpool tag. After Wednesday, September 4th,  you will have to come inside to check out your child. (Please see Mrs. Morin, in the front office, for your carpool tag.
  • If you have bus concerns, please contact the WCPSS Transportation Department at 919-805-3030

Cafeteria Work in Progress

Please note that parents will not be able to eat lunch with their child until Monday, September 16th. The cafeteria is switching to students having a choice about where they sit. We are working on getting seating for parents to eat with their child.

POSITIVITY PROJECT

What is the Positivity Project?

The mission of the Positivity project is to empower America’s children and youth to build strong relationships by seeing the character strengths in themselves and others. We want to consistently remind students why they’re learning about these character strengths: to build positive relationships that are grounded in an understanding, appreciation, and exemplification of the strengths. Here is a video that shares with you the fundamentals of the Positivity project

Week of Sept 9 - Sept 13: Other People Matter

This week, the students will be learning about the Other People Matter Mindset. They will focus on learning the following:

  • How to identify and appreciate the good in others
  • Understand that our words and actions affect other people
  • Support other people
  • Cheer for other people
  • Give our attention to other people

Parents click on the link below to take the survey to see your character strengths!
