Bulldog Bulletin for 8/25/19
Weekly Communication
Each week Briarcliff Elementary School (BES) and the BES Parent Teacher Association (PTA) will work to send out a combined newsletter via email, posted on our BES website homepage, and links sent via SMS messaging and Twitter. Please note that if you are not receiving a copy of this newsletter, make sure that your contact information is accurate in PowerSchool. (PowerSchool is the student database that North Carolina uses in all public schools.)
If you would like to update your preferred communication methods then please visit the WCPSS website at https://www.wcpss.net/schoolmessenger.
The SMS texting feature must be opted-in by texting YES to 67587.
Mrs. Nelson is Here!
I am so excited to be joining Briarcliff ES! On our website is a letter to students and under the Principal Message is a letter to all parents. It was wonderful to have a chance to meet so many families at Meet The Teacher and I look forward to setting up events to meet more families. Please follow me @MrsLoriNelson and @BriarcliffES.
Change in Start Times
Just a reminder that school hours are now 9:15- 3:45. Students may arrive on campus anytime after 8:45. The late bell will ring at 9:15. Students in carpool must be picked up staring at 3:45 and no later than 4:00.
Follow us on Twitter @BriarcliffES
Want to see what is happening while your child is at school in real time? Then follow us on Twitter. There you can see pictures and receive updates from your child's teachers. Even if you are not a Twitter user you can visit our homepage and see our feed.
Medications/Medical Plans
Parents please note that if your child will need to take any medications during the school day, he or she will need a current 1702 form completed by your doctor. The form and the medication (in its original packaging) need to be brought to the school by an adult. Medications for this school year can be brought to the front office. If your child has any medical condition such as an allergy requiring a medical plan, please contact the front office as soon as possible. Briarcliff does have a Wake County assigned school nurse who helps facilitate the implementation of these plans.
BES PTA
If you have not already, we encourage you to join the BES PTA. They support and sponsor programs, teachers, and a variety of work throughout the campus. They are also looking for volunteers and for a variety of programs and events. You can send in the form or join online here.
