WES Weekly Principal's Message 12-11-23
Good afternoon Wonderful Wakefield Eagle Families! This is Principal Keech, with this week's announcements. A copy of this transcript will be shared with our PTA and archived on our website under the Principal's Messages tab.
Congratulations to our Spelling Bee Champ!
Exciting news! Max McLoughlin is our Wakefield Elementary 2023-2024 Spelling Bee Champion! Congratulations, Max! We are so proud of you, and we wish you the best of luck in the upcoming district spelling bee. We know you will represent us well.
Morning student arrival:
We would like to remind our families that it is important that your child remain with you in the car prior to the doors opening to our building in the morning. Doors do not open until 8:45. We do not have supervision available for your children prior to 8:45 (unsupervised students are not always safe).
This is also a good reminder as it is beginning to be very cold in the mornings, also creating an unsafe circumstance for your children.
Walkers also need to wait and plan to arrive at 8:45.
If you are in need of childcare prior to 8:45, we offer Before School Care located in our cafeteria from 7-8:45. (please contact jallen2@wcpss.net for information and cost).
Afternoon Carpool:
Please remember that students are dismissed at 3:45 pm. Carpool is over by 4:00 pm. If you are arriving after that time to pick your child up, you are arriving late. We do not have supervision for your child.
*If you need childcare after school, our Kerr YMCA offers an Afterschool Daycare located at the Kerr YMCA. They will come and pick your child up after school, and you can pick them up from the Y.
*We also offer a tutoring service (for eligible students) called YLearning. The service is offered by the YMCA and trained tutors on our campus after school. Transportation home is also provided for eligible students. Please contact your child's teacher for further information for this FREE service.
That's all for now!!! Goooooo Eagles!!!
