Good afternoon Wonderful Wakefield Eagle Families!  This is your principal, Ms. Keech, with the weekly message.

Eagle families, we are so very excited about our students' return.  We can't wait to see all of you! We know that many of you are excited also but, some of you may also be a little nervous.  Therefore, included in today's message, our principal will be reading from the book, "The Kissing Hand".  We hope that it will make some of you feel a little better about the start of school.  Please see the video link here: The Kissing Hand

Below you will see a few reminders that you will need to review prior to the start of school next week (Monday, August 23rd) for grades 1-5 (remember kindergarten will be participating in staggered entry and will not start the first full week of school until Monday, August 30th)(Please also review last week's message locatd here: WES Opening of School Message

Before School Care:

Please be advised that we will be continuing our Before School Care Program this year.  Before School Care will start on Monday, August 23rd.  Doors are opened at 7:00 am.  Families may apply using the on-line application located on the front page of the WCPSS website under the Parent Tab here is the link also: Before School Care  

Families may also bring payment and apply in person on the first day of their child's attendance. Students and parents will enter our cafeteria doors located in our bus loop.

COVID Protocols and Expectations for Students and Families:

We are continuing to follow the 3Ws at WES this year - Wait 6ft, Wash our Hands and Wear our Mask.  Please review WCPSS Covid Protocols and Expectations shared with you in last week's message located here:WES Opening School Message

Carpool Tags and Meet the Teacher:

Meet the Teacher will be virtual and hosted on Thursday, Aug. 19th.

Carpool tag pick-up and medication drop-off is also Aug. 19th and will be a drive thru.  Please see above link for times.

Please review carpool information prior to start of school linked in the above opening message. Maps and procedures are included with a video tutorial.  Parents will NOT be allowed to park in our parking lots to drop off or to pick up during carpool. (This creates traffic snarls and impedes our carpool and we do not have enough parking available. ) Please also remember that parents will NOT be allowed into the building with their children in accordance with WCPSS COVID protocols)

Student Laptops

Students are to bring their laptops to school and back home everyday.  Students who are in need of a district issued laptop will be addressed during the first week of school with their classroom teachers.
