9-22-21 Harris Creek Family Message
Good Afternoon Harris Creek Family,
Congratuations to Mr. Timothy Huber, who was named as the new principal of Harris Creek Elementary School at last nights WCPSS School Board Meeting. Please see a welcome letter below from Mr. Huber, as well as some additional school annoucements.
Greetings HCES Families!
My name is Tim Huber and last evening I was thrilled to be named the new principal of Harris Creek Elementary School!
I started my career as an educator teaching middle school language arts with the majority of years spent here in the Eastern Area at Wendell Middle School. During the past 4 years as the Assistant Principal at York Elementary School in Raleigh, my mission has been to build and maintain a school community of care, growth, and learning. As a part-time second career, I am proudly serving in my 15th year as a Master Sergeant in the US Air National Guard, 145th Airlift Wing in Charlotte.
These and other experiences have taught me the importance and value of building strong relationships with children and families. I passionately believe that the calling of a public school educator is to serve the school community by ensuring all student’s needs are met so they have the opportunity to become the best version of themselves.
Thank you for placing your trust in Harris Creek Elementary School to keep your children safe and healthy. Please be assured that your children will continue to learn and grow in a school that is committed to following all required health and safety protocols. I invite you to join an upcoming “Meet Mr. Huber” opportunity; look for date, time, and location details to come in communication from the PTA. I am eager to hear what you love most about HCES as well as how we can do even better to support you.
I look forward to partnering with you in caring for your children!
Sincerely,
Tim Huber
Summer/Track Out Learning Pausing
Due to limited staff and other resources, WCPSS has pause the Extended Learning Program (summer learning, Track Out Camp), effective close of business on Friday, Sept. 24 through the end of the fall semester. WCPSS is investigating potential learning options for the spring semester and will have more information about those options in the coming weeks. This is for both our regular education and special education students.
TSI Designation School Annual Notification
Based on our data prior to Covid, Harris Creek, along with over 100 other WCPSS schools were identified as being TSI designated schools. Please read the letter below to learn more about this designation and what it means for our school.
Have a wonderful afternoon!
