DRMS' 11.24.19 Principal Message

Hello, this is Kristen Faircloth, principal at Durant Road Middle School with your November 24, 2019 weekly message.

Thank you to all the families who attended Student Led Conferences on Thursday, November 21, 2019.  Our learners did a great job sharing their progress and goals for the rest of the school year!  If you were not able to attend your child's student led conference, please work with your child's core teachers to receive the information.

Please keep sending in those Winter Wonderland coat drive donations!  While we continue to accept all sizes, we have received some specific requests for large or adult sized coats for males and females.  Please keep those sizes in mind when cleaning out your closets and/or checking out those great holiday sales.  Our donation bin will remain near the front office until our Thanksgiving break.  We are so grateful for your support and generosity.

December will be a busy month for the DRMS PTA:

  • The DRMS book fair will run from December 9 - December 13.
  • The NCFC and the North Carolina Courage soccer teams literacy challenge will kick off December 10.
  • The PTA will be assembling and delivering holiday treat boxes to staff on December 18.

This is a friendly reminder that students will attend school Monday, November 25, 2019 and Tuesday, November 26, 2019 this week.  Wednesday, November 27 - Friday, November 29 is a holiday for all students and staff.  On behalf of the faculty and staff at DRMS, we wish you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving creating many fond memories.

Thank you for supporting DRMS,

Kristen Faircloth
