DRMS Principal's Message

Hello, this is Kristen Faircloth, principal at Durant Road Middle School with your message for the week of September 2, 2019.

We have had another great week with our learners.  Students received their interim reports for the first quarter.  Please take time to speak with your child about their progress and discuss a plan for success.  If you have any questions or concerns about your child's performance, please speak directly with your child's teacher of that particular class.

Congratulations to all of our fall athletes who made our fall sports teams.  We are looking forward to cheering on our Dolphins this season!

All 7th grade students must be in compliance with the required immunizations by Friday, August 30, 2019.  After this date, students are unable to return to school without the required immunization documents.  If you have questions about your child's status, please contact our school's data manager.

We are looking to expand our school-to-career volunteers and resources.  These events usually take up a minimal amount of volunteer time but have a maximum impact on our students.  Please take a minute to complete the survey link below.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact our Career Development Coordinator, Tracey Latham (
Please consider joining the PTA this year - membership helps build a stronger connection to our school; gives you access to information about policies and events that affect our school and its students; includes member benefits and discounts on things like insurance, office supplies and even hockey tickets; and so much more.  Just click here to join online or print a membership form to send back to school with your child.  We will also be sending forms home with with students.
Our school beautification day will be the morning Saturday, Sept. 21, and we are looking for parents and students to come help clean up our campus!  A Signup Genius will be sent out next week.
Please email with any questions, concerns, or ideas – and thank you as always for supporting DRMS!
