Good evening Mustang families. We hope you are enjoying this first weekend of fall. As a reminder, tomorrow, Monday, September 26th, is a Workday for Martin and school is closed for students.
First Quarter Progress Reports: We have reached the midpoint of the First Quarter and all families are encouraged to check HomeBase/PowerSchool for First Quarter Progress, giving a good pulse check of where your students are in each of their classes. We will not distribute hard copies of progress reports. If you have questions about individual classes or grades, please contact those teachers. To schedule a conference, contact the teachers or grade level counselors.

Reflections Art Contest 2022:The National PTA Reflections Arts contest is now open and accepting submissions in the areas of Dance/Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography and Visual Arts. The deadline for entries is Friday, October 21st. We look forward to seeing the gifts and talents of our students on display as they “Show Your Voice”!! Submissions should be made here.
Military Connected Families: To ensure that the unique needs of military-connected students are met, state law requires that schools collect information on military-connected students. The goal is to help accommodate these students by providing them with support and consistency when their parents are deployed, transitioning between schools, and at other pivotal times during their academic careers.

NC Honors Chorus: The Martin Choral Department has 25 members auditioning for State Choir on Thursday in Greensboro. Yearbooks: The Martin yearbook staff is hard at work creating an amazing yearbook for our Mustangs and the 2023 yearbook is available for pre-order! Here is the link to pre-order. MathCounts: The MathCounts Club begins on Wednesday, September 29th, from 2:30-3:30 in Ms. Townsend’s room (1231). All students are welcome to attend and encouraged to bring a snack to eat. Rides should pick students up in the carpool lane at 3:30.
Raleigh Youth Summit: The City of Raleigh is hosting the Raleigh Youth Summit, a youth inspired partnership designed to encourage, empower and educate our teens (13-18) on Saturday, October 1st, at Chavis Park. NJHS Applications: The deadline to submit applications for National Junior Honor Society is Friday, September 30th. Please contact Ms. Bonham West, rwest2@wcpss.net, or Ms. Dalessio, cdalessio@wcpss.net, with any questions.
Art Club: Art Club meets on Tuesday in room 3010 from 2:20-4:00. Club members should have their rides pick them up in the bus loop.
Athletics: Martin Athletics open the season with away games and matches this week. Soccer and volleyball play at Dillard Drive with 5th Quarters beginning at 4pm. Football plays Dillard Drive on Thursday at Athens Drive High School. The game begins at 6pm. The location and start time of the football game are both changes.
8th Grade Families: The application window for WCPSS Early Colleges opens on October 14th. There will also be an in-person Early College School Fair on Saturday, October 15th, from 9-11am. For more information about Magnet and Early College options for high school, visit WCPSS Magnet Programming.
From the PTA: The Martin PTA Board plans to meet on the 1st Wednesday of the month. If you are interested in attending, please email us at contactus@martinpta.com and we will share the next meeting date and location with you.
The PTA will provide a popcorn bar and caramel apples to support our staff at the October staff meeting. Volunteers will be at morning carpool on Friday, September 30th, to accept donations. They can also be dropped off at the front office. Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up.
